In the past few months, I've seen that there may have been some efforts on making Gamecube emulation possible, even if it required complicated tools. Especially L4T Ubuntu, as this was something I nearly followed but gave up due to the web browser not bringing up the keyboard to actually progress despite it working for Terminal. Knowing how Hagi's emulation of the Gamecube and Wii (despite being semi-emulated for SM3DAS and maybe similar for SSHD) went surprisingly well compared to some others, this makes me wonder if an attempt to make hacks based on Hagi or similar in that time. Knowing how the homebrew community has been growing in the past couple years, especially with the efforts on certain consoles being emulated, I do hope things will shape up. I do have interest in bringing some GCN games on the go, and maybe similar things with Wii despite how Wiimote functionality isn't quite likely due to the Switch architecture.

There is no benefit to the SM3DAS/collection that anyonne is going to manage to use. The Saturn emulator was a good example of something that can be tinkered with, the Gamecube/Wii games released by Nintendo aren't going to be very fruitful.

They're recompiled binaries and the actual functionality of this is beyond most of the people who would work on it and care.

There's Linux stuff that works, even though I don't want to ever bother with it.

I'm using dolphin on android lineage OS for switch, with overclock and getting "almost good results" despite the audio lagging. the overclock on this android OS goes till 1.79 ghz (performance mode) , on linux ubuntu you can overclock it till 2.09 ghz.
The best option would be if nintendo release the GC games on Switch, like Super Mario Sunshine and others.

Do you think the N64 and Genesis games that will be offered on the online service.

will be recompiled games, or will we be able to inject our roms like we did with the Snes, Nes, and the Cotton Saturn Emu?

Why even care about the Genesis ones? Genesis isn't a difficult system to emulate.

N64 tends to use a lot of per-game settings, even on PC emulators. I'd be surprised if you could drop Goldeneye over Ocarina of Time without issues, for example. I think the mupen64 port is about the best bet I know of.

It's funny that you mention per-game settings because Nintendo does exactly that with the NSO N64 Emulator.
Even needing Lua scripts to change settings on the fly in certain sections of the game.

This isn’t all true. The emulator is the same across all three games. They pretty much use the same configs almost. Only thing I see that makes the sunshine rom different is they removed all the videos that are .thp files converted them to mp4 and placed them in a folder. The only thing I’m having a problem with is finding out how they got the hashes they did in their configs.

Omg !
+ Wave Race, F-Zero GX, Rogue Squadron, Metroïd Primes, Starfox Adventure, Twilight Princess, Battalion Wars...
This hardware really shown us what Nintendo could do if they removed their misplaced fingers.

@Sicklyboy, That sucks when the battery already begins to swell up. You considering on a desktop replacement, and if so, which one?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ damn 15 is shockingly cheap for that. Even 30 feels like a good price just given what a bunch of other FiiO stuff costs. Granted, not familiar with what those were originally selling for, so who knows lol

As far as a replacement for my BTR5, I don't really have my eyes set on anything specific yet but it'll likely be from either Fiio or Schiit Audio.

@Sicklyboy, Originally when it came out, they sold for around $40 USD according to FiiO's news bulletin. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/54677.html

@Sicklyboy, I would prefer FiiO as the better brand for a USB DAC.

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, all depends how much money you wanna spend. I had skullcandy headphones and shit way back when but I never liked anything as much as the headphones (and earbuds) I use nowadays

@SylverReZ yeah fwiw I've been quite happy with my FiiO BTR5 so I don't have any specific reason to not a FiiO again. Just gotta see what's available and how much I'm trying to spend lol

I have the FiiO X1-ii, and love what it does, but the battery life is kinda ass and the sluggish, unresponsive menu makes me regret my purchase a little.
