Well, my ds is in shambles, as you can see, do you think there is any way to truly repair her back to a near normal state?

Erm...I'm sure you could take out the snapped wires from the main unit, get a new top screen and fit it all. If it's just broken wires, I'm there's a way around it.

Im still a complete novice with ds repairs, but i build computers so....

Does it look like the top screen is the only thing with broken wires?

I see nothing wrong with anything else - the wires need to be fixed, that's all... You can find a lot of 3rd party DS parts but I'm not sure which those parts specifically are.

But it sure looks beat-up: let me guess, you pushed the top screen a bit too far?

You will need a new screen, microphone, and wifi cable, and maybe new upper PCB's...and when you get the screen you need to solder the speakers from the old screen to the new one.

My friend dropped it, and gravity+momentum+floor pushed the screen too far >.<

Im starting to think buying a used ds would be cheaper, easier, and less risky

I'm sure you can fix it, but it's going to take a ton of work and that's if you manage to do it all properly.
You snapped the orangish cable connecting both screens so you might have to take both bottom and top pieces apart and connect it.

It's probably not worth the trouble to fix though. Chances are it'll be extremely fragile afterwards.
As for your friend, I'd give him a friendly punch in the face =P

Btw, Dealextreme sells pretty good replacement parts.
Not trying to advertise but i bought a screen for my old ds and it works perfectly

$25 dollars spent as dealextreme will have it looking as good as new.

Ive ordered tons of stuff from dx, dont think i dont theyre there

Im just thinking it might not be worth it, considering the parts may be worse quality than the original and i might mess something up

If you could say exactly whats needed then i might reconsider

I slammed mine into the wall 2 times, did about the same thing to it, I just bought a new one, seemed easier, an didn't want to risk other internals being busted up

You've got a point, but someone even more experienced may be able to still fix it...

I'm going with ebay on this one, but i thank all of you guys for prompt replies and the help.
