Or they could simply include a small bit of data at the end of the save when you reach the end of card 1. Have you turn off the system, insert card 2, then it checks for that small bit of data and if it's there, you get to continue the game on card 2.
Wouldn't that require both cards to be in slot 1 at the same time?

I've never heard of Square-Enix saying something about DQIX on 2 carts. The picture on the web is a photoshop and it's old

It would save to internal memory of the DS and when you switch cards, it will write your save to the second card. But then I guess the extra bit of data at the end wouldn't be needed...

Nintendo DS games are on small, thin "game cards", as opposed to the larger cartridges used by the Game Boy line and other previous Nintendo systems.

  * Data size: Up to 1 gigabit ( = 1024 Mb or 128 MB).

2 gbits games = impossible (?)

Couldn't the first cart generate some sort of code that you would have to input in the second one like they did for the Golden Sun games ?

Yeah, but touch-screen support would make entering the code infinitely faster.

aye, but ud still have to write the bugger down 1st

so, will this game be on more than one cart or not?

if it will,then they will certainly have a passcode like Golden Sun had for GBA in the end of the first cartridge.

it's being released in japan feb 15:th according to their webpage. i wonder when we'll see it coming to europe?

What internal memory? The only nonvolatile memory in the DS that I know of is used for the firmware & system settings.

Just emailed Nintendo, they confirmed that no DS game will ever be on 2 carts. RUMOR KILLED!

I'm glad though. I rather then code well with resrictions then get lazy without. Besides, if WE can make 8Gigabyte Carts, then OFFICAL ones should be easy to make.

Well, if 2 carts is a no-go, then could the size of the carts be increased? Since slot 1 devices are capable of 2 (or is it 4) GB, it must be possible for Nintendo (or equivalent) to make DS carts that can hold more than 128 MB. If they could make 256, 512, or possibly even 1 GB...

The internal memory that is used when you play multiplayer with someone locally using only 1 card. The level is loaded into the other DS's internal memory.

Guys in the above 4 posts or so. Read this again. It's not a technical possibility. See what happens when you take out the DS card in the middle of a game then re-insert it.
