Sorry if this bothers you but i really need opinions.

I gotten acekard twice and both failed me. Acekard has great firmware but the build really stinks. My DS lite could no longer detect the carts after just some months using it.

I need something that can last at least one year. My sisters' DSTT and R4 clone(can't remember which version) both work well on their DS (no crappy can't detect carts stuff). Any other suggestions apart from those? Or should I just get a r4 clone with wood firmware?

The Acekard 2i is known to have contact issues.
Try this paper trick and your Acekard 2i might suddenly work properly again.

Failing that, an R4DS with wood firmware would be a fine DS lite solution, so long as you are happy with the 2gb limit.

Otherwise, maybe a Supercard DStwo, but they haven't been out for a year yet, so we don't what sort of life-span these things have. They're well worth the money for what they can do.

I guess I should also mention, the Acekard 2i that I bought recently as a birthday gift back in September, had the sturdiest build of any Acekard 2i I've bought in the past couple of years.

Thank you! I did not know about the 2Gb limit. Currently using a 8gb card so R4 is out. SupercardDS2 looks great but I'm really afraid it will go down the same path as acekard.

I guess I will try the paper contacts trick. Didn't know about it.

Is this paper trick recommended for cyclo evolution users as well? I have a cyclo ds and it has just started to give me the not finding game card problem recently.

It doesn't really matter what flashcart you are using, it's just if your cart's build is below par.

The CycloDS has teeth on the flashcart, it's not possible to slide something under the contacts.
