Anime recommendations, anyone?

Well, I'm apparently gonna lose my computer privileges soon, so I figured I'd catch up on my anime. I honestly havent been watching anime since... Death Note I guess, and I never even watched all of it. (I read the manga though.) So far, the noly thing I watched this summer was Code Geass, which was AMAZING. I'm currently on Code Geass R2, whch is keeping me as entertained as Code Geass did. Here is my list of recommended animes that my friend gave me:

Code Geass
Code Geass: R2
Lucky Star
Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagan
Neon Genesis Evangelion

Yeah, lol, I just realized a lot of them are mech animes o-o; Either way, I wanted to ask GBAtemo what you guys thought about these, and what you recommend.

You should check out Soul Eater, it's pretty good.

The only problem is that is not ended, but there should be like 30 episodes in english...

Or you can watch Rozen Maiden too, it's 3 season long (~10 episodes per season), it's really great!

The only one I've seen there is Lucky Star, one of me and my friends' favorites.

I like watching Clannad, it's a funny high school one, it's a bit serious sometimes though. Make you want to cry at the end of the movie.

I don't watch many more anymore. I watched H2O Footprints, but it's pervy.

I don't watch many action animes mostly just comedy, but that's really all I suggest. Shigofumi is kinda strange, all mystery... Hard to follow sometimes...

P.S: Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann was out of this world and tototally awesome. I can't wait for the movie!

Ah i dunno, i always watch them in japanese with subtitles (italian or english).

Yeah, I guess I forgot to mention i did see a few of these. I already watched FLCL, was excellent, but kind of weird... I also saw Suzumiya, I LOVED that anime :3 It was incredible.

Bleach. It's the best out there.
Naruto if you're patient. Story is very slow.
D. Gray Man is pretty popular too.

Evangelion and Gurren Lagann are excellent out of your friends recommendation, Lucky Star is okay.. it's full of Haruhi references so you'll like it if your into that kinda stuff.

I'll second FMP! and it's sequels and also recommend Dennou Coil and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei + sequel.

Cowboy Bebop (Best. Anime. Evar.)

Gundam 00 (one of the most moving anime I ever watched)
Samurai Champloo (Close second, ironically very similair to cowboy bebop)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Langann (A mecha anime which is awesome as hell. Final battle makes no sense whatsoever though.)
Cromartie High School (Funny as hell.)
Death Note (Stupid premise, excellent execution)
Code Geass (Similiar to Death Note but with moar mecha)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (I don't know why I like it, I just do.)
FLCL (Great series with a good dose of randomness.)
Futakoi Alternative (Don't ask.)
Bleach (Its a bit lacking lately though.)
Naruto (The same as Bleach.)
Full Metal Alchemist (nuff' said.)
Monster (Great psychological thriller, explosive ending.)
Studio Ghibli's films are all great too.
tekkaman blade/teknoman (old mecha series)
Macross Frontier (Nice mecha series)
Blood+ (Bit gory)
School Days (Messed up ending)
Samurai 7 (Great anime, takes the seven samurai and adds in mecha's)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Needs no comment)

Dragonball Z games are fun to play but except for that I've lost interest for it.

You can tell I like mecha's.
And yes, I added haruhi twice.

One piece is just like DBZ/Naruto/Bleach

Its one of those looooooooooooooooooooooooong anims where you can't just start watching and it takes ages to catch up.
I tried catching up on one piece in the holidays.
I downloaded 10 episodes at a time and watched them as the others were downloading.
I only got to about 160 before I got completely and utterly sick of it.

I'm not comparing them in terms of quality. I'm comparing them in terms of length.

Would you prefer it if I compared it to something like inuyasha?
