Animated Skin Thread
[yt]bbPgl2iWSGE[/yt]
Not long ago the ywg released Wood version 1.32 which added animation support for skins. I created this thread in hopes of spreading the word about it, how to use it, and show a couple of examples. Hopefully, soon, you guys can make your make your own and post them here!
What you'll need:
1.A Wood compatible flashcard.
2.Wood version 1.32 or higher. http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=25544
3.GIMP 2.6 (image editor) http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
better yet: use my tool --> http://filetrip.net/f26565-16bit-Bmp-Batch-Converter-1-0-beta.html
Note: if your frames are not in bmp use this wonderful app to batch convert them to 24bit (then use my to get them to 16bit)
http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm
Directions:
1.Add a folder called "frames" inside your skin folder
2.Put your 16-bit* BMP animation images inside it (order them with numbers and letters for file names ex. 1.bmp, 2.bmp etc. -- just skip 0's though)
*GIMP can convert BMPs to 16-bit for you (Save as Windows BMP image ->Save->Replace->Advanced Options->16-Bit X1 R5 G5 B5->Save)
3.Add this text to your skin's uisettings.ini: (example)
[animation]
duration = 1
x = 85
y = 88
show = 1
Notes:
-duration is the speed of the frames
1 is the fastest, 6 is the slowest
-x and y is the top left coordinate of the frames on the top screen
-try not to go crazy with too many frames as it could crash Wood (1MB total limit for R4iGold -- 2MBs for R4 original)
