What was the slot one code for 1.1.4? For player 2
In 1.1.4 it was AC424F90 for slot 1 and AC424ED8 for slot 21.
So a slot 1 Player 2 cheat in 1.1.4 would look like:
04100000 AC424F90 000021d4

Unfortunately the difference between Player 1 inventory and Player 2 inventory is different than it was in 1.1.4, so it's not as easy as adding the difference between the offsets (if that makes sense)

I uploaded all A-B villagers. Appreciate if you could test some of them out and see if they work as intended!

With the list of items ID gradually building and now being rather extensive, is there a database to allow it to be sorted alphabetically or searched?

One thing I found a bit sad, the friendship will be 0 after load villagers and houses, you have to make friend with them over again.
And if you only change the house not the villager itself, the inside won't change at all.

Thats sorta inevitable because Im basically dumping the ones recently recruited from the mystery island just to keep it consistent.. would take way more time to dump the ones ive already established friendship with.. maybe in the future the tool will allow editing friendship related parameters

It worked perfectly! House and inside everything is correct!
It's super helpful when people help test things, thank you!

I made one that grabs @imthe666st 's latest data and parses it like so:

https://mpql.net/tools/acnh/codes/item-list/

I will format the above a bit more when I have time, including making the top table header sticky and all that. If you have any suggestions to make it more readable, let me know.

If you want it plain without the tabling for fasting loading, but parsing out the extra data, you can also use:

https://mpql.net/tools/acnh/codes/item-list/?raw

Anyone has the walk through wall code for 1.2?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Great minds think alike, I already tried that one but no dice. Let me try it one more time to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

Edit: Confirmed that that offset doesn't work
You can do a search with noexs. Put an item on slot one, search for this item's code. Change to another item, search for this item's code. The offset needed can be calculated by subtracting heap starting address from the address found.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

    I appreciate the insight!
