EDIT: Actually, it seems that the article is for XP users. I'm on a Vista. Will that make a difference?

Then you have a BIG problem. There is no software/driver to turn ANY wireless USB adapter into a Soft AP on Vista. I know this because I am searching for a way to connect my DS to the internet, but I don't want a router.
The solution is to install XP on another partition or install XP on a virtual machine.

Ah, thank you for the information. I don't think I'll take such drastic action as to install XP for the sake of getting the DS software update via DS.
