Sorry, noob here, I just download the file and place it in the MicroSD root menu? (I haven't updated the DSi yet.) Then go in to the DSi and select that file?

I'm not really fully understanding this. I'm running my Acekard2i on AKAIO 1.7.1 I can just run the updater and it will work fine correct?

For updating the AK2i firmware (yes, this is firmware, AKAIO is a kernel/OS), just run the .nds file (the DSi one if you are just planning on updating your own, or the DSL one if you are planning to update a couple) and follow what it says.

1.4.2 is for China only and is their version of the 1.4.1 update.

I believe that is only for the Chinese version

and it should work the same if I am correct.

If you've updated your DSi to firmware 1.4.1, then yes. There was never going to be any other way of updating it. It was the same way with the previous fix, so people knew not to update their DSi until a fix was released.

The firmware update has nothing to with AKAIO. It will work regardless of which AKAIO version you are using.

So, in fact, this should let us swap Danny Phantom and Alex Rider card-icon's at will as long as we stay on 1.4 and don't update to 1.4.1
