We all know people are going to keep voting Ak2i.

You know why? Ak2i is the R4 of the DSi. I'm not trying to offend the acekard/AKAIO team, I mean the R4 before it died.

It has alot of features most people want, since it's the first DSi flashcart everyone knows about it already so anytime anyone thinks about a DSi flashcart they automatically think ak2i, just with the R4.

It gets regular updates, and well...yah.

Even after some more high quality flashcarts come out, like the M3 Reali or CycloDSi, people will continue to say AK2i. It's even gotten cheaper than the iTouch2, which is supposed to be a budget flashcart, because it's so popular...much like the R4.

So the outcome to this and every other poll will always be the acekard2i.

By the way, this is my opinion not yours so if you think differently that's totally okay and you're welcome to post your thoughts about this here.

well i guess your right in a way and also wrong in a way your right beacuse people do directly hink of ak2 i and dont think bout other carts but your wrong by comparing the cekard to the r4 its better in a lot of ways so there should be nothing wrong with people wanting an acekard because its cheap has a nice menu and almost perferct compatibilty but people if you got the money go for the m3i zero i jsut got mine and i like it better make sure to get sakura

I don't think it's there in popularity with the way the R4 was just yet. The acekard does have alot of features, it also has alternative opensource firmware like AKAIO. The R4 never had that as far as I know. So even if it did ~die~ it could live on through open source firmware.

no one took a gun and pointed at you and say you can't say these things
smile.gif

is your choice to fancy m3 or whatever
smile.gif

by the way, what is QUALITY?
firmware = quality?
features = quality?
support = quality?
a high quality flash cart for me would be rom compatibility
features and etc is just a complement

my thoughts would be who cares about cyclo, ak2, m3 or even r4
at the end of the day, whats the purpose of a flash cart?
is to play game.. everything else is just complementary
having them i won't live longer
without them it doesn't affect my gaming experience

however, i guess soon m3i0 would be another new r4

So are all the other fucking DSi carts, what is your point? At least this one is a bit futureproof.
since its 0 to infinity and aka futureproof effect is kicking in
all the m3 owners, supporters, members, die hard fans or fan boys/girls will say grab m3i0
i forsee every now and then, whenever someone ask for a futureproof flash cart i think the answer would be m3i0 or m3i0 would be mentioned as the safest bet

supporting arguements would be
futureproof
better than scds1i
provides features that other carts don't have
sakura

welcome new m3i0 as the new r4 to be
smile.gif

first generation r4 is r4
second generation r4 is ak2i
third and upcoming generation r4 is m3i0

you can don't like what i said but i am just stating the fact that i see

*FLAME SHIELD ON especially towards m3 fanboys*

EDIT: guess what under certain circumstances i would be asking people to get m3i0

New flashcart? I recommend M3i Zero. This flashcart works on Nintendo DSi. I think it's bettter. It includes real time save. I think DS flashcarts (not DSi) will not work on the Nintendo DSi.

Go buy M3i Zero!

Acekard2i is supported by some of the most technically advanced members here- Normmatt, Smiths, and their team. I think that alone is enough to say it's nothing like R4.

Personally, I think that the cards that are "future-proof" (what is it now, M3i0 and SCDS1i?) have a higher chance of lasting longer than cards that don't have this technology built into them. I mean, the other brands can make a new card for new blocks, but who wants to keep spending money when they only need to do it once?

the M3i0 isnt future proof, as far as i know you cant update the actel chip too support any new cart commands which means its useless because it will never support dsi mode. Though no other flashcart allows that either so....

Well of course. However, it's more than likely that when DSi mode is fully exploited, all newly emerging flash cards (including remakes of the AK2i, M3i0, and others) will have the "future-proof" technology implemented. Or at least, that's my guess. They'd be fools not to, in case of the event that Nintendo releases a bricker in a firmware update.

Thanks for quintuple posting. Next time please stop your computer from lagging. Thank you.
Well Skyline if that happens I probably would pick up a revised AK2i.

Normmatt does this mean the M3 team lied to us about having everything updateable. (I might have misunderstood them anyways)

AKAIO is not open source. The RPG firmware is.

Well, if development for it ever stopped completely, they might just release the source code so someone else could work on it. Guess it'd result in a huge influx of clones that use it, but it's not like the R4 was any better.
