Updated your dsi/3ds system before your r4i, so you cant play it? Well, instead of having to get another ds lite or dsi/3ds which hasn't been updated, you can get an action replay dsi. It is a cheats system where the ar dsi card has a card slot, and you put the game which you want to cheat on in the slot. But if you put an r4 in the slot, obviously it won't have cheats but you can still boot it regardless of your system's or r4i's version! And, of course, it will work if you already have an action replay dsi.

Wow, that's the first I ever heard of this. Did you test this personally, or are just reporting some of your findings?
Also, after it boots the R4(i) card, can you use your precious .nds ROMs?
Have you tested this on more than one type of R4 card? Which cards have you tested?

no updates block action replay, only flashcarts. it only works for action replay dsi (not action replay ds) but works with all versions of all consoles (including the new 3DS XL). I have only tried it on R4i 3DS but I don't see why it wouldn't work with other flashcarts.

The R4i itself boots fine, but the .nds roms have a couple of problems, sometimes they go blank with a white screen or you lose all your data, but you can upgrade your r4i card to support the latest firmware on your DSi/3DS, so that doesn't really matter. I found this myself and tested it on 3DS and 3DS XL with R4i flashcart and Datel Action Replay DSi.

actually the older DS action replay was blocked on DSi and 3DS
they have only recently got the DSi action replay out and it does indeed work

yes, and the action replay ds does not have a card slot, and it only works on ds lite so it is useless for this.

thanks! it seems the reason why only a couple of games work is because unfortunately you cant save or load, but again this doesn't matter because you can just upgrade your card.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
