Someone made a thread that supposedly had a copy of the cracked SX OS but instead its designed to brick your Switch.
Yep, knew that something like that was going to happen sooner or later. Wonder how exactly the payload would brick consoles it was ran on, considering that you get stuck on the Nintendo Switch screen after the payload is ran.

Even if that is the case, I can always recover at least.
you can't always recover.
It's why I still have not committed the emmc special command for force erase. Change this a little bit, run it and you have to buy a new emmc.

And there are countless other ways to completely brick a switch.

So..

People will be emboldened to do it more now too, because of how 'successful the lulz' were with this run. With news of patched units out there too, its even more prime troll target material to break people's unpatched units.

Code is trivial to acquire, and someone might release even worse brickcode to build off of this.

Yeah there are a lot of things people can do to make bad code.

Another example is a fuse burner code so to speak and even worse things.

Always get payloads from reliable sources.
Whoever started this is a total dick :/

I agree on that but because this thread isn't stickied it's likely to be buried by other threads soon, so we should bump it consistently.
Haha, well I'll be definitely keeping it on my Watched Threads list. On a serious side note, since a moderator made this thread, they also have the power to sticky it so enough people ask it to happen, they can do it themselves.

My thought exactly!

This should be a sticky. Preferably with bright flashing colors and blinking images. Now that the code is out in the wild...
