I Mean, Nintendo has Made $15.089B, Right?

Funny. I didn't think of linking to that thread here, but it fits perfectly.
OK, I Wanna Say 4 ThingsAt the end it would have increased the price of the console, because they won't go for less profit. When the PS2 was new DVD players were pretty expensive. A gaming console with that functionality and a not much higher price than just a video player was very appealing.
When the Wii entered the market virtually everybody had a DVD player and a new one didn't cost much anymore.

A direct consequence of Nintendo having considered supporting video DVD at some point. The drive was prepared to read standard DVDs -- and does.
After Wii release without official DVD video ability, and the possibilities of modchips and even softmods allowing the usage of burned games, they logically removed that functionality from the drive firmware in newer iterations.
Not Necessarily (I Think), But I HAVE Used WiiMC in Dolphin Emulator Before, and it Works! I Was Able to Watch YT, DailyMotion Videos There. Heck! I Could Even See The Root of My Vitrual SD Card There.WiiMC and a USB is miles better as far as avoiding wear and tear...
Not Necessarily (I Think)
1. I Said "Not Necessarily" Because I Don't Have a Real Wii Anymore, and I Have An Emulator (Dolphin)I think I don't understand what you mean by this. What I mean is that WIiMC does a pretty good job providing the possibility of watching videos without having to rely on optical disc media, but with a simple USB device, or a fast enough SD card.
Glad You Understand! and Yeah, It IS kinda cool to be able to check WiiMC or other hombrew to see if it works there.Ah, I see. While there are simpler ways to watch stuff if you're on a device that can emulate a Wii, It's kinda cool to be able to check WiiMC or other hombrew to see if it wonrks there.
Talking about this reminded me that for some reason it became sort of a trend for people to show that they're "watching anime on their Wiis" on the Wii subreddits with WiiMC. I don't get trends much but hey, if they're having fun it's fine by me.
From what I can gather it costs $2 to licence DVD playback pre device. The Wii sold over 101 million units.OK, I Wanna Say 4 Things
1. I Understand that it Would Have Increased the Price of the Console, But, Come On!
2. I also didn't think of linking to that thread here, but i agree that it fits perfectly.
3. I Knew That DVD players were pretty expensive, But, How Expensive Is It?
4. I'm Not Disappointed at Nintendo, I Just Want to Know Why They Didn't Want to Pay a Licensing Free.
I Don't Know, Since I Don't Have a Choice for That Question. HOWEVER, isn't $2 Short (Nearly), While $202M Dollars is BIG?If you were Nintendo would you really want to pay $202,000,000 to licence DVD playback when you didn't have to?
Yes, if you can sell more consoles with that argument. From what I can gather it costs $2 to licence DVD playback pre device. The Wii sold over 101 million units.

Why Would I Sell More Consoles with an Argument Over something? (or is "with that argument" a Figure of Speech or a different Meaning or something?)Yes, if you can sell more consoles with that argument.
