Where do I start with installing A9LH? I am stuck on Part 1. Someone said I need homebrew launcher? How do I install that, it said I need a game? I am completely lost on all this :(

How is your system now? (Model, full system version, have CFW or not, etc)

Currently on 9.0.0 and using Reinand with Menuhax. If I don't care about saving my Emunand could I just reformat my SD card and start with the new guide fresh?

You can but if you format on PC, you won't get rid of the emunand partition (you can in Disk Managment on Windows but if you don't know what I'm talking then it's better not touch).

You can start here for N3DS/O3DS:
https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Homebrew-Launcher-(Browser)

Or here for O3DS only:

I have a spare 64Gb card (new) I was thinking about using. Would I still start on the page you linked, or start at: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-1-(Decrypt9)

If you use the 64Gb SD, it has to be formatted in FAT32 with 64Kb cluster size (you can't do it in Windows, you have to use a 3rd party formatter for this)
Better stick with your old card.

In the end, you can use emunand9 (an A9LH payload) to format the new card and copy over the files/folders from your old card in an easy way.

I have successfully installed a9lh on my o3ds, but i now have a problem of everytime i load either my sysNAND or my GW emuNAND the gitwrapped icons are there, even after i unwrap them, next reboot they are back.

Not a big deal but does anyone know why this happens?

Ok, thanks :)

I looked at Homebrew Launcher guide... Do I still need to change date and time? I am on SysNAND 9.0.0-20U
No. Actually read it, please!!!!!!!! It says to only do that on certain firmware versions. Not yours.

Format your sysNAND (assuming you don't want any of the data on it). I assume your emuNAND and sysNAND are linked.

Thanks. I'm familiar with formatting a new card, so I don't think that will be an issue. Just wanted to keep the old one as a backup. I also would prefer to start fresh and not worry about trying to copy over anything from emunand. I guess my biggest question is if there is something in menuhax which is still resident in the system if the memory card isn't inserted? To put my question another way, if I format and insert a brand new SD card, am I basically back to stock and can proceed as if I had just purchased it?

It's an issue caused by menuhax I believe; change the theme and see if it still happens

From your setup; yes changing sdcard should leave with with a stock unaltered sysnand

Yes. But you'll have to make sure you create all system folders first (open home icon, change theme. It'll update some folders on "Nintendo 3DS")
You should also go to system settings, data management, N3DS big icon, software to rebuild the database.
And system settings, data management, DS Ware big icon, software to rebuild the database.

Maybe not necessary but just in case.

I install successfully a9lh in my normal n3ds, now I have my n3ds zelda edition and I wanted to do the same, BUT while I was downgrading my device some days ago from 9.9 to 9.2 I got an error, I freaked out and then I read that I should remove the micro sd and then boot again, so yeah, after that, I am afraid to continue, by the way right now I installed menuhax, I think last version because there is no color flashing at boot, then Installed Luma, now that Plailect updated his guide should I continue?, is downgrading to 2.1 still mandatory?, afaik there is no problem if I use a 64gb microsd isn't?
