Holy crap, did plailect's guide got immensely shorter? Also, how fast is it now? The old guide always takes me 2-3 hours per 3ds.
probably an hour or less depending on how much time it takes to set it up after getting to 2.1. besides download time, getting to 2.1 is done in about 15 minutes (with the optional NAND backup)

I'm guessing if you did like some speedrun you could do it in 10 or 5 minutes.

Now we just need a program to do all of this for us.

i was thinking install the gateway fastboot to saveme some headaches and lot of time, but now I'm ready for this wonderful short guide!!

I remember...

back in February, when you hex edited a bricked emuNAND fof n3DS...

...when it was very foolish to attempt without a hardmod...

...when arm9loaderhax was installed via a .3dsx...

...when you were forced to compile that .3dsx with your OTP...

Errgggg. It kinda takes the fun out of hacking your 3DS, even if it does make it easier. I can't believe it's so simple now, and I can't believe how much 3DS hacking has evolved since the days of MSET, Cubic Ninja, and Tubehax.

I swear it literally can't get easier or better than this. What's even left to improve? All that's left is to fix the DS mode rom loading and wait for ShadowNAND and a9lh v3 to become streamline, and I call the 3DS complete. 100%.

Well yeah, always good to find an arm9 kexploit in the latest firmware, but beyond that...

The #MasterRace is becoming the #NormieRace.

*Before Plailect's new one. Y'know, the one before this update with the 4-5 steps iirc.

oh lool. yeah, this guide is easy and all, but i prefer the old one too because i love the amount of steps it took. it was very fun following it till the end.
i guess i only say that because that's where i started out

Decrypt9 won't work on anything newer than 9.2.0, so downgrading is necessary.

Basically Decrypt9 sort of allows for nand sharing. If you think about it that way, they just have premade 2.1 nands on the guide which you can flash with Decrypt9 and proceed like before. The only order change now is the installing fbi after a9lh is installed. It also does not work above 9.2 as it still doesn't have access to writting to nand.

I think you guys missed a part on my post, I said you don't need to do the 9.2.0 downgrade anymore if you're on v9.2 already. However, the guide insist to still do so. check it out yourselves. :)

Heh, I agree, but there's a lot of people who don't have the time/patience/energy to follow the old guide from start to finish :P

I don't have a spare 3DS to install A9LH on, so I decided to work on a 3DS that already has A9LH on it.

Did the CTRNAND Transfer, uninstalled A9LH, and booted regularly. Was on 2.1.0-4 no problem!

To think it's so streamlined now is amazing for those just starting out. Massive thank you to all the devs involved, especially @d0k3 and @Plailect. :)

I found the older guide fun both because of the amount of steps it took, AND because it was really scary.

Im going to a9lh a o3ds in a min but I have a question about the old a9lh guide.

I just finished a9lh using the old guide. 3ds dont boot without sd so a9lhis confirmed to be install. I can use fbi hbl etc
But i saw that the version number in settings is ver 11.0 instead of sys 11.0

Is this normal?

Nintendo to release a new firmware, realize it does a9lh by just switching around keys in the key sector, no more 2.1 downgrades.

of course this just relies on chance.

Yeah. If you want it to say Sys instead of Ver, you can change that in the Luma menu
