For those of us still on OFW 3.50, is it safe to update to the newly released 3.55? or would that somehow disable this WebKit exploit thus hindering any opportunity of future homebrew potential?

Figures that I hadn't played my PS4 in a month or two, decided to turn it on like a day or 2 ago, updated the Firmware, and NOW I find this?! I'm going to be really upset if 3.50 turns out to be the needed FW for a hugely amazing exploit :(

Bump. I would like to know as I wouldn't mind updating if it's safe to in order to use online services

if you expect a hack out of this i guess you should not update at all.
this news was online far too long. i guess the update fixed it.

I dont really care for an exploit on ps4... its my main online device so no reason to hack it.
i updated - no major changes ... but i guess the PoC is not working anymore?
Not quite sure.... i could test it maybe... just not now ^^'

Okay, please let me know when you've tested it out, I would love a potential exploit if it ever happens, and too many times have I updated and missed my opportunity. But if the update indeed stops this exploit I will refrain from updating any further.

The one Comcast provided is apparently powered by a comadore 64 chip lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
What's weird is that they both have about the same speed in bandwidth but the Comcast one feels laggy like click something and it takes a second to load, the Eero one is just instant lol
