I remember when the Nintendo channel on the wii was out, you could try out ds game demos... this worked by the wii hosting the demo via ds download and in the ds download, you would load the ds download and play the game demo... maybe if a hack was discovered we could play full games? The wii can also connect to the 3ds using the mii channel to transfer miis. These show that the wii can connect to the 3ds n both 3ds mode and ds mode. Perhaps we could somehow host roms this way to not just the 3ds, but all DS using the ds download?

It would probably take a long time to download, the reason it worked is because the ROM sizes were fairly small and could be transferred quickly. Although 3ds download play is still really quick, the only way I could see this working is if someone could set up a spoof, maybe modifying one of the DS download play demo ROMs?

This would not work, the ROMs have to be loaded into memory, thus changing the memory map and limiting the amount of available memory
