That's plenty fast enough. Something is wrong your Wiis internet connection. It may be something like your router being far away and it keeps losing connection or the Wifi card in your Wii may be dying. :(
If you have a broken sd card reader then I would make sure the connection between your Wii and your router is solid (not to far away, etc...) or if that doesn't work I would look into getting one of the USB<->Ethernet adapters.

I've honestly got no clue what's wrong. I guess my Wii is just dead and or dying. It is a 2006 Wii after all.
You can see in the picture my living room setup. Wii's right near the router (Green light, bottom left corner.) Oh well.

I take it there's much I can do other than try again? Will my system break if I restart it?

It won't hurt it to turn if off and keep trying over and over and you may get it one of the times. It's also possible the Wii just doesn't like that router. Hard to know without testing it on other routers to see if it exhibits the same behavior.

OK so it's been on the Network Loader screen for about 10 minutes and hasn't done anything. Can I turn off my Wii and restart?

Sorry about my crappy phone camera quality.

You got your IP there, someone can steal stuff. I suggest you to delete that picture.

Said wrong, they ddosed me once I was in quary idk why. Also, can you tell me why it’s public? Because it’s hosted?
If someone's mad they can DDos you but they can't steal. The IP seen in the loader is the local IP of the Wii on the LAN. Not the network's public IP on the internet. So it's of no harm to leave the photo up.

Ah, I missed that you said you worded it wrong.
The write up for str2hax will be released in a few days once I have time to sit down and clean up the build system for it and polish various things up. Lots of stuff about it is still manual in building the exploit and lacks and documentation.

I don’t know if you remember the free wii-points stuff, but with that you could change some dns and go into a old styled google instead of wii shop(it’s not about the exploit you made) and you could search normally. Maybe you can use that as something? I was working on it and I can give you some details if you are interested at least to make a special web for those who missed Wii Shop Channel and couldn’t download but also don’t wanna hack their Wii. It would be pretty cool.

Are they able to fix this on their site? Did someone dump the site yet for offline use and Apache server setup maybe?

The only way for Nintendo to fix this is by issuing a wii update. Which, while technically possible, almost certainly won't happen. (Otherwise they would have fixed things like letterbomb by now)

For right now it prioritizes the http loader mainly due to the fact the the DNS resetting code is still in http loader. Unfortunately these are separate stages so the options are either:
A. Port the DNS resetting code into the savezelda minimal environment (with no libogc)
B. Rip out the sd card/usb gecko code out of savezelda and re implement them in the http loader.
I chose to do option A however the final step in resetting the DNS servers is to reload IOS which involved doing ES IPC requests for which I didn't have time to figure out/rip out of libogc to port to savezelda.
I'll look into it more tomorrow and see which option will end up being more complicated but for now sd card/usb gecko loading takes a back seat so that people don't end up with their DNS settings broken and not realize it. (Something I REALLY want to avoid.)
Hey @Fullmetal5, did you ever get a chance to look into this some more?

Thanks

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
