Hacking 8.1J Help

Hello im new on Gbatemp and i would like to know if 8.1J is usefull for me as i have a New 3ds(without emunand) + Gateway card + a copy of Zelda oot. I read that Gateways multirom menu is broken in 8.1J consoles, is it broken in every single console with fw 8.1? why is it broken?

Your best bet is to sell your OoT and buy Cubic Ninja/sky3DS, then use NTR cfw to update to 9.2, or wait and hope that GW adds full 8.1J support in the future. I ended up just buying a non-Japanese N3DS and motherboard swapping. Good luck.

There's a thread for updating to 9.2J i followed the insructions in there and succesfuly updated to 9.2 but i must say i didnt have much knowledge about it and was afraid at first but you will see its too easy!After 9.2 i formatted emunand and used majoras mask to update emu to 9.4.I use a sky instead of cubic ninja
