Anyone here playing their games in 720p? I actually find it quite enjoyable. My machine was built to be power efficient yet able to play modern games so, 720p is the trade-off. That said, 720p at max or near to max settings is still beautiful! I tested Deus Ex Mankind Divided on my Steam Machine today and the faces and hair detail were insane! I can only imagine what it all looks like in 4K.

As long as it's 720p or higher and has a decent framerate and it's enjoyable the game is fine by me. That probably has to do with growing up with the gba and ds which have crappy resolutions by today's standards. Not really into the whole frames or 4k master race right now. Maybe one day though if I get a pc. But I'm a console peasant so what do I know. :P

I care more about fluidity than fidelity; as long as the game plays smoothly I'll probably enjoy it.

That said, there's a hugely different visual quality between my modded Oldrim at 720p on my notebook and a graphically-pimped Skyrim SE on my gaming rig. Shame SKSE support isn't going to happen anytime soon.

720p is starting to look as outdated as 480p when it comes to big screens. I used to play on a laptop at 480p but i did it because it wasnt uber powerful but played games pretty smooth. With my machine now i easily can do 1080p but scaling down to 720p on my tv reminds me of 480p on my laptop.

just wish I could figure out how to push dolphin to force it into 1080p :/
Can't you just increase the native resolution to 1080p? I know i pushed it and ps2 emulator to 1080p wide screen. Then again i havent used dolphin in a few months so i cant recall my settings.

the game is setting the res and so dolphin doesn't affect it, I tried that
"Dolphin is an emulator for two recent Nintendo video game consoles: theGameCube and the Wii. It allows PC gamers to enjoy games for these two consoles infull HD (1080p) with several enhancements: compatibility with all PC controllers, turbo speed, networked multiplayer, and even more!"
Says that on front page of the site. Should be able to configure and tweak the settings a bit unless thats not what youre talking about.

from what I heard ya nead to modify the game itself when it comes to wii games at least

My favorite resolution is 240p all you modern kids! Scanlines forever! (just waiting for my NESRGB board to arrive).

I had a 1280x1024 monitor back in 1999, not sure why I'd want to go down to a lower resolution than something that was available 20 years ago.

When games run at 720P and can't do 60FPS, is a sad day, in 2017, now and days games can run at 1080P at 60FPS, personally, i just want smooth framerate, 720P is fine for me. But higher def is always better as long as it won't cause lower frame rate. The struggle for Higher stats is endless, how much power will we need for 8K 300FPS and 2GBPS internet speed? You need to own your own solar company or electric powered ranch of manual labor. :P
