Possibly. You have to remember that the PSP has been out for years now so if for example you got a Ridge Racer save that was made on a 2.xx firmware then it'd probably be corrupted on a 5.xx firmware.

That being said you're more likely to find working saves for your games on 5.00M33-6 due to the size of the library existing before GEN made it's introduction.
right now i have problems so far with dissidia 1 europe save and khbbs japanese save. so downgrading will help these games right?

also will i have to patch the new games to work(like dissidia 2) or will it run similarly to gen-d3 prome-4

Unless you know what firmware those saves were made on then the only way to be sure is to try.

And on 5.00M33-6 you do indeed need to push a couple of buttons on ISO Tool to decrypt and patch new releases. And when i say a couple it's really that...give or take a one or two...

thanks and one more question does popsloader work better on m33-6?

Generally you'll encounter fewer issues using popsloader on 5.00 as 5.00 seems to have better native compatibility than 5.50 for PSX.

Ultimately whilst irritating for many the ultimate problem in many premade eboots lies in the actual eboot itself. (i.e the program used to rip the disc, the image type picked for the rip and then the eboot conversion utility).

In fact i'm playing through Xenogears now (ripped myself from my own discs with Alcohol and converted with the command line CDDA popstation) just to test if the Deus problem is in fact an artifact. It's probably not but i have the desire to know for sure. The eboot GUI's tend to break compatibility for problematic games.

First Online-Mode Success

Today marks a very special day for all of us, I and Azn, a close friend of mine, have tested out my internal PRO-C online code prototype in private and it was a (although slightly buggy) success!

* PDP Emulation now works properly and thus Adhoc Transmission over IP.
* Group Management works mostly, some slight bugs were revealed as we tested it.
* Trigger Schemata is now working! Finally no more polling! Network Speed / Latency Improvements!

Just a bit of tinkering here and there, and the first PDP based Adhoc Titles should be playable.

Before People start asking though… it will be quite some time before Killer Titles like Dissidia Duodecim and the likes will be supported, cause they make use of the full Adhoc Arsenal available, PDP, PTP, Matching, etc. however don’t worry, just because it will take longer to support those games doesn’t mean we aren’t working on it.

Now I can go to bed without worries for today, a nice feeling.

Good Night Readers, Greetings, Coldbird.[/p]

Can you translate that into layman's terms? What are the practical applications of this update?

PRO Status Report
Good Evening fellow readers.

A long day has come to pass again and it’s time to notify you all of our current status and future plans.

First, let’s go for the bad news, due to the lack of betatesters for the online mode, we weren’t progressing as fast as we wanted on the online feature development, making it impossible to finish the necessary online mode feature for PRO-C before the Genesis Competition deadline comes to pass.

On the other hand though, this only means that PRO-C will take longer than planned, not that it is cancelled.

Thus, we will be handing in PRO-B4 as our Genesis Competition entry and release PRO-C as a followup release after the Genesis Competition has come to pass.

We intend to use the following week to do intensive betatesting on our latest release to ensure you guys are getting only the best of the best.

Even though it’s a bit early, here is the changelog of PRO-B4 for your viewing pleasure.
biggrin.gif

* New ISO Driver “Inferno” (boosting game compatiblity by a lot)
* Version.txt Display (people wanted it, there it is)
* Improved Plugin Compatiblity (NID resolver changes + other fixes)
* Custom PSX Manual Compatiblity
* Parental Level Check for ISOs
* Anti NBGI Fixes (fixes a bunch of “broken” games)

This is of course, just a temporary changelog… and I’m pretty sure quite a few things will get added to it over the following week… as we fix bugs and prepare the release candidate for a public release.

Greetings, Coldbird.[/p]

Coldbird had stated in the past he intended to port it to 6.xx so it's certainly a possibility. I wonder which games classify as the broken ones.

Not really an update but here is an part of an interview of Coldbird and VFlame with wololo as regards their past as psp devs and about PRO custom firmware. Interseting to read though....
Although it does contain the PRO-B4 changlog

* PSP Go Hibernation Fix for High Memory Applications
* A nice additional surprise…

Hmmmm......A suprise

Also Rydian, if your reading this, the interview also contains stuff on the 6.36 HEN, that they recommend people on 6.36 to downgrade to 6.35, so i guess it should be classified as 'safe', and so you might want to change some content on your guides, should you feel like it.

Kinda new to all this. I'm currently using the PRO-B3 update each time I restart my PSP. Would I simply erase B3 from my mem stick and use B4 in its place (when it's actually released, of course)?

Thanks

I have a quick question about 6.35 Pro-B, didntthink about it when i hacked my PSP but today myfriend was hacking his and it stood out to me. What does 6.35PRO B fast recovery do? Ive never used it, i dont even think i put it in my PSPGo.

I wondered this myself until I just tried it last night. Basically it skips any text or input and immediately jumps you into PRO-B from OFW on a fresh reboot. That is, once you launch the program.

sounds pretty awesome, might start using it but ive been just keeping it in sleep mode recently so havent had a need to lol. still cool i guess.

It takes like 5 seconds from a cold reboot to get into PRO-B3 with the quick recovery tool. So no problem with shutting it off.
