I'm still using 5.00 prometheus on a 1000 series psp, would you guys say it's worth upgrading at this point?

The uninstall undoes the permanent patch as well (it's in the status messages).

And yeah, game categories is slow, so I just don't use it.

thanks for clearing that up Rydian

I feel better now

I upgraded my PSP 1000 from 5.00M33 to 6.39ME-4
Don't regret it.
It runs every ISO (UMD Rip/PSN rip) and Homebrew i need

(I can always go back to 1.50 and upgrade to any other above OFW or CFW

)
(yeah i'm one of those fools that still have an epsilon modchip in his PSP-1000)

The Undiluted Platinum is probably the fastest chip to become redundant in the history of modchips.

Really liking that they fixed the NoDRM Engine. The Dissidia 012 DLC now works without having to use nploader.prx, meaning it'll load with Inferno. The mem stick speed up is quite nice, as well.

Wow! The memory stick speedup option is AMAZING! It runs even faster than good ol' fat ms mod on my old PSP. DJ Max has never run smoother and had such short loading times.

(You have to enable it manually in the Recovery, by the way).

I was running on Pro-b5 and was determined to keep it that way until this post. I was interested, tried it, and was instantly confused how smooth the game ran. After upgrading to B7, It's like I gave my psp crack or something...

Can someone please explain what all these new features mean? I just started hacking literally this week, and have 6.20 PRO-B6 perm installed. I can't find somewhere that explains the new features in english and in pros/cons.

Ok, I will be more specific. I mean, what do these particular features mean, and is there ANY reason at all I wouldn't want to use them?

[+] Added UMD VIDEO / GAME XMB Mount Feature (No UMD required, allows for Game Updates)
[+] Added memory stick speedup option
[+] Added ISO cache option (available in Inferno and NP9660)

Their Wiki and enclosed release readme.txt's REALLY need some work....

Remind me what the process of updating was if I'm running 6.20 PRO-B6 permanent.
Run Perm patch to uninstall, run B6 installer to uninstall, run B7 to install, run Perma Patch to install ?
That's good except you should move your seplugins folder to your HDD to be safe.
So I have B5 now (B6 didn't have any useful new features or fixes and I was lazy) so I have to get B5 somewhere to first uninstall it and then install B7?
Where I can find B5 files?

E: never mind. Found it couple minutes after posting this >_>

[+] Added UMD VIDEO / GAME XMB Mount Feature (No UMD required, allows for Game Updates)It lets you mount an ISO as if it was a UMD. Instead of just the game showing up in the memory stick menu, it can take an ISO and pretend it's a UMD, giving you access to the update stored on the game and possible other crap that most people don't care about.

Shit loads better from the UMD with this option on.

There are no cons.
Actually, newer LCFWs don't have Popsloader, so PSX compatibility is much lower.

But aside from that and plugin compatibility, I consider it as the best Custom Firmware ever.

so if I upgrade I can't use popsloader? hm
