Something very simular was discussed here
http://gbatemp.net/t298424-mugen-power-battery-for-3ds
but no one ever got it and reviewed it. I'm kinda interested to see if is actually better than the Nyko battery.

Apparently it does give a big boost to the battery life, I've seen people posts on other sites. I can't confirm if it is indeed the same product as this but it is a 5000MAH battery.

A battery that powerful would last a lifetime (big difference bettween mAh and MAh)

The battery should boost the life by ~450% which would be lovely but would take for ever to charge

I don't like buying the sort of thing off ebay anyway.

XDD My bad....

It's anywhere between 30% to 40% boost, that's what I've heard.

5000Mah seem a bit too much, especially at this price...

At best if you're lucky you'll get a sightly better battery life, if you're not lucky: A bulkier 3DS with an even worse battery life.

The image of the battery

after one week testing for the battery ...

right now it can last for 2 days with brightness of 3 and energy saver off only go down to 2 bar,
each day play 3-4 hours 3DS games...RE:MERC plus whole day street passing.

overall more long lasting compare to stock battery

4.5/5 for battery life
2.0/5 for quality it feels cheap and the outer casing already broke because i used too much force to put in the case
3.25/5 overall

original link to my post... i edited this post to take out the none english word in my original post

nice

that link doesnt really work btw
i just create my account just to reply about the battery...
so far i really satisfied with the performance of the battery
and the extra weight of the battery not really noticeable except after a long run of Merchanaries
like 2 hours non stop.
the link just link to my original post dunno why it does not work anymore i tested it when i post

kenjixx, do you have any pics of the battery fitted? i'm looking into buying a better battery for my 3ds, but i don't like the idea of a "pack" that attaches to the console....prefer internal, but want to know how big it looks once fitted?

this is the cheapest i can find in the uk?

from the looks of it, its basically the same size a the whole bottom half of the 3ds....so it's like holding the 3ds while it's in the supplied charging cradle.....

also it's only 12.99 on amazon at the moment...i think i might still order....ever if it doubles the size lol

Actually, I have this battery as wel. It's not so great as I thought it would be. It's heavy (160g) and very big. It gives you cramps if you play for too long and doesn't hold as comfortable anymore.

Sure it's great for long trips, but honestly go for something smaller.

Battery-life: Does what it promises, 4/5.
Battery-Size: Way too big, almost doubles your 3DS in size. 1/5
Battery-Weight: 160grams which is about 2/3 of the 3DS' total weight 1/5
Case-Sturdyness: Feels very cheap and look cheap. I can move it while it's supposed to be screwed tight. Would most likely crack after you accidently drop it. 1/5

Overall, this battery does not provide anything other than just better lifetime which can be great for trips or when you are away from home for some time. But other than that it's more trouble then that you would actually gain something off it.

Not to mention the battery needs 9/10 hours to charge.

Overall score: 1/5, just because it provides more lifetime.

I actually got rid of it a week after I got it.

I have one of these and have been using it for a couple of months now, Works great. Yes it's bulky but for me - a guy with big hands, it feels even better to hold than before. Battery Life is awesome, with 3d off i only need to charge it once a week with average play. With 3D play perhaps twice a week, but that's no problem if you connect it up to charge over night.

thanks guys

seems this is getting very mixed reviews, but most of the bad points seem to be about the size/weight.....but for £13, i've ordered so i can try it out for myself...i can always switch back if i don't like it. i have a longish trip coming up next weekend, so i'll try it out and post back what i find

Hi there,

I have one of those and have mixed feeling about it: battery life is much much better (actually what it should have been in the first place), no doubt about that... but....... it does make it very thick and it is heavy, very heavy... I read a post here where a guy stated you couldn't notice the weight difference. Not true. Just a plain lie, believe me: you notice it. A lot. Soooooo, I think this is great if you know you'll be on the road for a while, I wouldn't hesitate, but for a day to day use I would stick to the original. Personally I use the original battery most of the time, but if I have to leave my place or have a trip or whatever I pop it back in (it's pretty straightforward, no big deal).

what they maybe could have worked on then was a better design for the back cover? maybe something that simply "clips" into place (and provide a replacement "clip cover" to fit the original battery size too). that way you can quickly change out the battery depending on your situation, and don't need to worry about keep unscrewing all the time? (i can imagine the threads wearing quite quickly if you change it often enough)

::EDIT::

been dispatched today, estimated delivery by friday, i leave for a few days saturday
