I did the latest update on my dsi xl, 1.4.3 I think, and now I can not use my CycloDS ievolution in dsl mode. Now it is set in dsi mode, but there are some games that do not work anymore  It is possible to be able to make it work? These games are
- Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver (Italian version)
- Pokemon Black and White (Italian version)
- Art academy

When I starting Pokemon Black and White and art academy there is this message:
"ERROR: This DSi-enabled game cannot be played while operating in DSi mode, because the DSi specific sections are missing from the ROM file. Please lode iEVO in DSL mode to play this file."

When I starting Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, when I get the start screen and says "touch to begin", as soon as I touch appears a blue screen where it says "Communication error. Will come back to the title screen. Press the A Button" and restarts the screen.

However, among these games, I would prefer to run Pokemon Black and White, there are all my saves and it's a shame that they become unusable

What is DSi Mode?

OT: It's possible to play B/W on DSi mode, but it requires a complete dump. There was some talk about taking the needed parts from the said dumps and adding them to the other versions.. Can't seem to remember where, but regardless, the french version should work. Otherwise you're out of luck with the cart since TC doesn't update it anymore :I

Heart Gold / Soul Silver are DS-mode specific. IIRC All 4th gen pokémon onwards do some wireless checking right after the title screen.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

  • Veho @ Veho:
    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
