Hacking 5.5.1 internet browser

Damb OK try and delete the internet browser files you have still on the system and try to update again. If that does not work I'm out of ideas

That's what I did. I'm basically screwed now I guess.

Download 5.5.2 version install with the special wup installer and everything should work again. I deleted all my files for 5.5.2 trying to downgrade and had to reinstall like this

I tried that and I get an error. It's not going to help.

Nope, not 100% wrong becuase that browser will only work under a CFW.

And to fix the browser you can just download the installation files and install it with a version of WUP Installer that has no whitelist

If you read the thread, I have CFW and CBHC, so it doesn't matter. I just need working installation files now, which is going to be impossible since the anti piracy thing.

I've tried jnustool, and even then it doesn't install.

Of course it does, you just need a proper wupinstaller (not GX, it's made only for installing games, not system titles).
Try using dimok's original one.

You mean the non-blacklisted one? If not, link the one you're talking about.
I've tried to use the non-blacklisted one, once again, nothing.

You should delete all the browser files then. You won't be able to reinstall it if there's anything left there with wrong metadata.

Can I do this with uWizard? If so, would I choose to decrypt the files or what?

no, delete the files (and folders) in the console's memory, like you did before replacing them. Wipe everything and you should be able to reinstall it.

I understand that I've removed the folder for the title itself, I'm just wondering if instead of JNUSTool I could use uWizard.

I have no idea why you'd use it. jnustool doesn't create any files, only downloads them and it's a system app so the ticket is downloaded too.

uWizard has an easier GUI, while JNUSTool is hard for me to use. I'll try it though.

you can just use this command line if you want the latest browser (from v5.5.2)
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 000500301001210A -dlEncrypted

If you're still on 5.5.1 then use this
java -jar JNUSTool.jar 000500301001210A v241 -dlEncrypted

If so just downloa the browser 5.5.2 and install with the wup installer that doesn't block system titles.
Thats how i got mine working again.

I just tried it and I used JNUSTool and it fixed my issues. I reinstalled my browser and it definitely works now!
