I hope you enjoy your stay here and that you find answers to your questions!

Welcome to the 'Temp!

It's rather odd to have someone older than me join,
a day after I make a blog posting regarding just how old I feel here.

Do you have any particular questions?

My first offiicial questions is:

looking for the best cart to get for my DS's for a 7 and 5 year old to use..no need for all the bells and whistles..just something reliable and easy for them to use...

Thanks for the warm welcome...

yeah, but the cyclo is expensive and has features the 5 and 7 year olds will NEVER use.
But has perfect compatibility. I don't know about other carts. Also Slot 1 plsu a EZ V 3-in-1 if they are into GBA games.

Well, that's a loaded question around here. Everybody has their favorites.
Chances are, if you're looking for a solid mid-range cart, that's probably either Acekard 2, or DSTT.
I have used neither of them.
The little I've seen the EZFlash5 used, it seems to be a good card, as well, but it's less popular here.
Stay away from anything called "R4"

I use the M3real perfect pack, because I like having all the bells and whistles, and couldn't afford a CycloDS

QUOTE(Narin @ Nov 17 2008, 08:23 PM) In all seriousness, for a simple, cost effective flashcard for its features I suggest the AceKard 2 flashcard with the AKAIO loader made by several talented developers here.

If it's good enough for Narin, I'll agree with that.

Greetings and welcome to the site! I hope you enjoy our little slice of the web! If theres anything we can do or if you have any questions, just let us know. We are a friendly bunch of people here, oh and just a word of warning, please don't feed the Tempers after midnight here..they are worse than Grimlins. Always trying to screw on my little moogle pom pom, bah!

I too would like to welcome another of the over 30 crowd. Acekard 2 or CycloDS are the best choices presently. It comes down to how much you want to spend. I'm more on the side of CycloDS, because it's a simple menu, easily upgradable and English-speaking support via their website (and of course, you can always come here for assistance). Either choice works. Of course, you could buy one of each as a middle ground. It would also help each differentiate between your girls. Also, you said you plan to buy 2 DS units. Why not a third for yourself, or a fourth for the misses?

I use the ez flash V. It's pretty stable, has about 90% compatibility I would say (all of my games always worked). It doesn't have much in the bells and whistles department, but it supports the 3 in 1 expansion pack 100% (same company), so you could get the two bundled together.

what do you think of the Supercard DS One V.3 instead of Cyclo??

The Cyclo is the best flashcart around, hands down. It has the best compatibility, features, a very good development team, and is very reliable. However, it's also the most expensive! If you're buying one for each girl, you're looking at at least 100 bucks.

Since you said bells and whistles don't really matter, I would recommend either an AK2 or DSTT. Those are very good flashcarts, and very cheap. They have good compatibility and are easy to use.

Also, welcome to GBAtemp!

War, I believe he's asking if a Supercard DS One V.3 is comparable.

The nicest way I can say it is this:
Supercard has some vehement supporters, but I am not among them.
I have not used one, nor seen one used, but the people here whose opinions I trust don't seem to spend their money on a Supercard.
