I just tried it and imported the save fine from the cartridge into the CIA-converted Luigi's Mansion.
Didn't have to create save data or anything. Just installed it and imported the save right away.

Are you sure your conversion went alright and the resultant game had the proper unique id? (0055F)

Which version of savedatafiler (or SDK version) did you use to do that? I have the CFW installed, with devmenu and savedatafiler, but when I try to launch SDF, it crashes and tells me "the SD card has been removed."

I'd like to use CFW to transfer over some retail saves, so how were you able to do that?

If you get that error on the CFW it means your SaveDataFiler's exheader either isn't set to run from SD or wants a firmware higher than 4.x

Thanks. I'll go ahead and try another version then (only if I can get this thing to launch again).

How do SDK version numbers correspond to System Menu versions? Is there a table?

I can confirm is working on 4.1
I managed to sucess doing this:

After you have configured the cfw, but as soon as you launches it , it freezes because you tried to conect to the wifi, do as below:

While on the sysNand, delete the wifi config that you're going to use on the CFW (so the CFW still have your wifi config and the sysNand don't). After that, just launch the CFW. It worked for me.

My sysNand is 4.1.0-4E.

I truly hope that this help some comrade =D

And sorry for the bad english hehe

It's also worth noting that I originally had problems connecting for 2 reasons: I had forgotten I was using a proxy server that would forbid my 3DS from updating, and this tool does not work with proxies. In addition, I found that the emuNAND strangely changed IP addresses from what the sysNAND was. After I found the actual IP address, devmenu installed less than a second after I ran the command.

I am really confused. I got all the way upto step 12 and I'm completely stuck.

Everytime i hold L and launch the exploit i just get the screen flashing black and then the top screen showing greenish-blue and the bottom screen white.

Will the CFW load now? and then do i run the installcia .bat file? I'm so confused. pleeeeaassee help me

EDIT: My home network uses DHCP infrastructure so my 3DS has a dynamic IP address "10.0.0.xx" will the batch file still work with this?

I must be at least up 50 tries to get it to boot now. surely i've doing something wrong?

I actually don't understand from step 12 onwards. I'm getting the Green screen at the top and bottom screen is black now.

Is this normal? what's supposed to happen after that?

Try following the guide on page 11. You're supposed to get a blue screen at the top btw.

I'm actually colour blind, so i'm assuming my top screen is in fact blue. So thats happened. Now what? Do i run the batch file now to install the devmenu CIA?

When i do i get error "ctrclient: failed to connect"

EDIT: This is ridiculous, I estimate i am upto 65-70 tries now when holding L.

All i get is the blue screen at the top and bottom screen black. I estimate maybe 1 in 20 tries i get the white bottom screen and the batch file still says "failed to connect"

If it say failed to connect open the browser and make sure you did write the right ip in the batch file

I am using dynamic IP addressing, i logged into my ADSL routers webpage and tracked down my 3DS IP address.

Does it only work with static IP address? i.e 192.168.0.xx or? My 3DS is connected via DHCP so it's currently 10.0.0.xx

That could be the problem. Set the 3ds to an local static ip. What could happen now on your side is that the cfw has another ip when it launches

Hmm, switching to static is going to cause problems since there is more people who live in my house with me and all their devices are set up for DHCP.

Thanks for your reply anyways. Much appreciated. BRB, putting my other SD card back in my 3DS that is set up for Gateway. This CFW is too clunky and unpredictable for me.

EDIT: I just did some more reading and apparently the CFW is supposed to load when you launch the exploit when holding L

It just hangs for me. What have i done wrong?

My friend is letting me borrow his flashcart tomorrow, how is there a guide on how to install cfw without a gateway?

Edit: Does CFW run region locked games?

Keep trying. It does that for everyone. The success rate for booting into CFW is completely random. If you actually see the white flash on the bottom screen, but nothing happens after about 6-10 seconds, hold the power button and try again. If there is no white flash at all, hold the power button and try again.

It's totally unstable.

OK i finally got it to work when I started from scratch with the instructions on page 11. I am finally booting into the CFW.

But, i can't get dev menu to install. Something to do with purchasing something from the eshop. But i already have the 3DS folder on my SD card with all the data management stuff. So yeah, not sure what's going on there.
