Try deleting the title.db and import.db and creating two blank ones in their place, like mentioned on the first post? Your 3DS should detect them as corrupt and rebuild them, which has made the DevMenu install work for other people with a similar problem.

I have question I already in CFW. and obtain my IP 3ds ( I did test it it work because I can use internet by use this ip for 3ds)

I did go to CFW however, whenever I open up run bat it write ctrclient fail connection????

what wrong I doing ? I did edit the run bat and write down like this installcia 192.xxx.x.xx 1 DevMenu_2x.cia

there something wrong for what I am doing?

can someone help please

and when I am in CFW I can not do anything whenever I click something it will freeze and I only can turn of CFW when hold down the power button

A step-by-step CFW guide (especially for those who do not own a Gateway)

Installing DevMenu/BigBlueMenu from the computer:
To install CIA files using the windows tools, you need to hold down the 'L' button while you select 'Nintendo DS Profile'.
Now you're gonna use the other files in the CFW archive.
You have to edit the file 'run.bat'. It comes like this:
Code:
installcia IPTOMODIFY 1 DevMenu_2x.cia

...

If it installed fine, press the power button and then press HOME to reload the home menu.
You'll see a new gift there.

Once you have DevMenu/BigBlueMenu installed, you can start the CFW in regular mode (don't hold L) and install CIAs from the SD card using it.

During the part where you hold L while you select the DS Profile, do you have to have wireless enabled and what happens on the screen of the 3DS when you hold L while going to the DS Profile?

Edit: What does "regular" mode mean? SysNAND mode?

regular mode is the normal mode you will operate your cfw in. Holding L enables the ability to install cia's over a network. That mode is buggy a prone to freezing if you try to do anything other then install devmenu..:)

:angry::( I can't get it to work!!! ctrclient always fails to connect, even though my dad's laptop and my 3DS are connected to the same network, and I've configured the run.bat according to my 3DS's ip address!! I followed a suggestion from earlier in the page, where some one resolved there "failed to connect" issues by making a blank title.db/import.db, but all it did was cause my 3DS to delete all the games of my SD. And I had just finally cleaned up all the junk - the only backup I have is from a few days back :( But more importantly, why won't ctrclient connect? I swear I've put like 6 hours of my time since the weekend into trying to get devmenu installed on CFW. I'm sure I followed all the steps, but it just won't work. Someone plz help me out or I think I might die from having wasted all my time for nothing

I have the same problem ctrclient fails to connect even I have my ID 3ds correct and can go to CFW.

try many way like turn off the wifi when it fail connect.(however it freeze when I turn on wifi again). Go to internet browser (however can not load any page because it freeze whenever click on something). turn off wifi password and firewall.

Please help

i know this has been asked like a couple pages back but is there a way to install this using the r4igold deluxe?

" fails to connect," this issue could be an issue in your network side for whatever reason it would be hard to help you your router might be preventing it or firewall or antivirus it's hard to tell. try entering the browser and load a site and exit as fast as you can , try to be as close to the router as possible ,also if your using separate wireless router and it's acting like a bridge to the main router then this might be the issue.
i remember first time i tried this cfw i had the same issue as you guys have , i failed! only after 2 weeks it somehow connected and install and i don't know why it didn't before this whole cfw is bullshit just buy a gateway trust me you won't regret it .

Got the "failed to connect" issue. IP is right, ping is working. Tried to wipe sysNAND and clear SD card dbs. Should I keep trying?

Yea, you should. Possibly try to use another launcher.dat (not the launcher_gw.dat) from Palantine_CFW. This fixed my problem (I used Internet Connection 1, too, not 2 or 3).
When I loaded the CFW with DS-Profile and holding "L" pressed, it should reboot in CFW Server Mode (you need to try it several times!)
After this, wait a little bit and run the "run.bat" (you should try it more often if it doesn't work for the first time).

Another launched fixed your "failed to connect" problem or CFW load? I'm using an encrypted one (launcher_gw) and able to get into CFW mode and even network connection is established.

Yes, the another launcher fixed my "failed to connect" problem. I switched from Internet Connection 2 to Internet Connection 1, too.
I needed to run the "run.exe" 3 times or so and then, it installed the DevMenu to my SD Card.
I used the Palantine_CFW/launcher.dat (not the launcher_gw.dat).

BTW. I installed "homebrew 4.x" with Rop MultiLoader to DS Profile, too.

It is clear about launcher version and ROP MultiLoader setting choice. I'm not using any connection, just Nintendo Zone predefined one 'attwifi', not sure this is a problem because ICMP i.e. ping is working fine. Anyway I can't normally access setting in CFW mode because is hangs.

You can access settings without problem, you need to boot CFW without Holding "L" pressed. Nothing should freeze then and you should be able to change the Settings. But this is the normal mode, you can only install DevMenu in Server Mode ("L" pressed).

About the Nintendo Zone... I`m not sure if it works, but you should to use a Internet Connection directly

Switched launcher and added a connection - still the same, network is available but still failed to connect. So looks like it should have several unknown conditions to install properly and/or retries.
