Hardware 3DSXL just bought has FW4.5 wants me to update to play games. Advice?

Hi guys, i managed to get myself a 3DSXL for £59.99 it was cheap cause its an american version and it has version 4.5 on it.

i already have a SKY3DS PLUS Card and it wont allow me to play any of my games cause it wants me to update.

now i dont really want to do that so was wondering what i should do if i should go ahead and install CFW and if so can anyone point me to a working Tutorial that would get me able to play my games on my Sky3ds card.

Also you'll need to do a cart update to get to 9.2 or something where around that.

Edit nevermind you don't need to cart update to install B9S and Luma

Ok so i have gotten to Section IV on the Tut and when it asked me to use A on the following

• “Show NAND or user string in System Settings” i just get
  
  An Error Has Occured:
  An old Unsupported FIRM has been detected
• copy a firmware.bin in /luma to boot

What should i do now as im little stuck as im not sure if i have what it needs me to put in the folder

yes ive done that but i get a black screen and my ds will not boot to anything but this screen with the top being red writing saying: An Error has Occured an old unsupported FIRM has been detected copy a Firmware.bin in /luma to boot. press any button to shutdown

ok so ive just done this part in the troubleshootingand have managed to get to the 3ds menu

If your NAND is of a version between 3.0.0 and 4.5.0, do the following:

• Ensure that you are using the latest Luma3DS version (v6.6 or higher, at the least)
• Download this file and rename it to native.firm
• Download this file
• Copy native.firm and cetk to the /luma/ folder on your SD card
• If you have Luma3DS version 7.1 or lower, rename native.firm to firmware.bin
• Delete both of these files after updating your device

so now that im back on my menu i see black boxes to the right and the Tutoirial now is now at :
Finalizing Setup

should i just kleep folloing or should i go and delete them 2 files i just put into my luma folder on the sd card?

ok im at section III of the finilizing part ....or at least i think i am .. it was at jsut about full when doing the system update then it says error and had to restart... but when it restarted it launched like it was updated as in it gave me tutorials of new items n things that i had to click next to ... when i go in and check my system version it still says im on 4.5.0-10U..... now when i try n follow the Section III launching FBI when i click the download play button and then hold the L + Down + Select nothing happens :/

i restarted my DS and held start and the godmode thing loaded up so i know im kinda there but i cant seem to load the FBI thing in the download play area

You can delete the 2 files it told you to delete now. That should hopefully get it working.
