The contacts? Well, if your description is right, then I just might have a fake on my hands... http://imgur.com/a/rJt6L Care to verify?

For me, it looks like the middleish one is longer than the rest, but I'm not sure which part of it exactly is the "contact"... or is it inside the card?
no, your fine, dont worry, lots of paranoid people, there was only ever one suspected fake gateway card (and personally i think it was just a manufacturing error really), but your card is fine, dont worry :)

I think it could be how Sky3DSs are, for better or for worse, limited to playing pirated roms, making them illegal.

Gateways, however, can be used for homebrew, which is legal afaik. Much like the whole jailbreaking scene with iOS: legal to do, illegal to pirate.

Still interesting how 3dsgamerworld's Gateway's seem fine, but their Sky's are fishy...
there was a time a few months back when gateway cards where being shipped with no boxes or stickers and the official word from resellers at the time was that gateway had sent out the cards with no stickers or packaging and they usually arrive separately, but for some reason they hadn't and resellers had been waiting weeks on stickers so a few of them ended up just posting them out as is.....yeah not the nicest of strategies but when you have hundreds of people waiting weeks over a simple sticker you might just think whatever if they want it now they can have it now :P

maybe just email them and see if they can post you out a box and sticker if its so off putting :) but thats just how the cheapest resellers work if they don't receive the packaging from the maker and they have the cards in hand they don't really sit around not selling because there is a sticker missing, their game is to sell as many as possible for cheap rather than trying to be perfect perfect

My two cents: I ordered a sky3ds from them a week ago, received it this weekend. Looked just like the photos posted here: Clear/blank case, blank/no-decal cart. It worked once, but then stopped working. I've verified with several brand-new, supported SD cards, and I'm 99% certain this thing is now dead as a doornail. I sent them an email inquiring about a replacement. Here's hoping I'm not effed in the ay.

sonic0967: Did you test yours out yet?

Yup. Been using mine for the last few days. It works great. Really enjoy just using my dumped roms rather than having to carry 7 game carts around with me. Been using it on the New 3DS XL without issue, I don't play anything online other than Smash Bros, which I bought from the E-Shop on launch night, so I guess I'll find out if they ban based on private headers or not. Frankly if I was banned I wouldn't really care, otherwise I'd keep a seperate 3DS.

Try sticking it in the 3DS with no MicroSD inserted. Does the blue light blink 3 times?

Had a friend order Sky3DS there. 90% of the time, any e-mails to [email protected] bounce with errors. Frustrating to say the least as he has no recourse for support other than waiting for a couple hours before attempting to send again.

same here, clear hard case and no sticker. anyone hear back from them? it seems to be working okay though but a label would be nice

From UK ordered mines from modschipdirect yesturday been dispatched already with dhl express , est time of delivery is 27th feb and im in the UK so well see
