I have already 2 bottom screens of 3ds xl with same problem - clicking sound when trying to turn on the console. If you connect the cable of a faulty screen, and connect the backlight cable from a working one, the console turns on. That is, the problem is in the backlight - it can be fixed somehow? You can certainly buy a new screen for $ 10, but if you can restore these, then why not do it.
