bkifft , my 3ds have this chip KLM2G1DEHE-B101 bundled in it and my 3dsxl has the toshiba THGBM4G3P1HBAIR , both chips are 2gb , if you don't believe me , i can post picsof both boards , and maybe that explains why some people got success with erasing their mmc while others can't

I doubt this is the reason. Again, there are not properly documented successful recoveries with the Arduino (one 3ds fell and broke before reflashing and the other is some french dude who preffers to keep his methods secret to profit with them).
I wish someone could confirm for a fact that it works besides the SD cards tests.

When I put the SD adapter into the reader.

Wait, is that your 3DS connected?
So windows is detecting it succesfully?

if you are able to take good enough high res pictures to read the chip imprint i'd love those (not that i don't trust you, all the pics i always come up with are to low res to read shit).

This is mine, sadly the last part of the number is erased

Thanks, but sadly this falls under the "can't read shit" category. Is it possible they etch out part of the imprint on purpose?

Can't find the data sheet for the toshiba, not even on the Chinese search engine baidu

So let me get this straight. Raspberry needs 4 wires and Arduino needs 5?
I have installed the 4 wires and have dumped the NAND. I don't own a Raspberry or Arduino but I'm going to order one this week and would like to make sure Raspberry is the best choice for the 4 wire mod.

I used this for the 4 wire mod

I think an arduino should be better just because it is cheaper than a raspberry.

Thanks for the reply.
I want to be able to just use 4 wire instead of 5, will the Arduino work with only 4 wire?
The Arduino UNO is $25 and the Raspberry is $35 USD, $10 is not much of a savings. I just want the best for easy unbricking only using 4 wires.

aye, the "4 wire hw mod" compatibility was one of the reasons i abused the Pi's SD slot.

This is particulary true in my country.
I bought the Arduino and the shield for about U$S30
A Raspberry is selling around a ridiculous U$S90 bucks the cheapest.
That´s why I´m all interested in making this thing work.

Here in Brazil the "Raspberry Pi Model B 512mb Rev.2.0 Farnell" costs USD 87.59.
I spent USD 41.51 to buy Arduino + shield + SD Wire.
A Playstation 4 here costs USD 1660.02, here he is called by PS4K cost 4000 reais.
