Even if the files are decrypted, 3dsexplorer will give that error...

I have had that problem already too, and the EXEFS and ROMFS we're correctly decrypted.

"Error: CRC Error or Corrupt Save File". Right? When trying to open EXEFS or ROMFS?
yes, that is the error i get as well

That's a 3DSExplorer issue. The files may be decrypted, but 3DSExplorer gives that error.

I suggest doing the test I reccomended. That way, you can be sure of the decryption.
It would be odd, if not impossible, to ROMFS.BIN be encrypted and everything else NOT, specifically EXEFS.

If you manage to extract the CODE, BANNER and ICON from the EXEFS without issue, the files are certainly decrypted.

I've got those extracted alright. My problem is that the romfs folder is never created no matter which tool I use.. Like with the "Hack Pack", wjeh I choose to extract romfs.bin (decrypted), it gives me a list of errors and after a second goes back to the main option selection

Hmm.... Can you post a PrintScreen of those errors or something? Maybe it will help.

Hmm.... You should have posted the IVFC error in the first place...

Is your XORPAD the same size as your ROMFS.BIN? Because it must be...

Check it out: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-3ds_ctr_decryptor-void.370684/page-6

From what I've read around there (because I never faced this error) you would have your XORPAD must be edited to be the same size as your ROMFS file.

These might also help:

And... It seems PKMN ROMs are on the top list of this issue... Xp

I hate xorpad.
Decrypt your rom using Decrypt9 or RxTools, and no more problems.
I am actually doing bot xorpad and dc9/rx just to make sure I do it the right way. I also found that my slot025xkey or whatever its called was missing the last two bytes. so hopefully that will fix part of my decryption issue

I finally got everything to work using the rxtools method. I found that my problem was that my slot0x25key.bin was incomplete and my antivirus kept deleting a file that the hack pack needed. Thank you for all your help!

Never would have guessed that.
First time I saw an anti-virus software complaining about that specific file...

Good to know you got everything working!

Why are people still bothering with batch files for extracting rom files (romfs.bin etc) when i created this... :P https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-3ds-rom-tools-gui.396785/

Seems no one likes it. :(

I would have suggested it. If I knew it existed... How about putting some Google ads on that? =P XD

BTW: Seems to be an excelent tool. Downloading now. Thanks!

Does this extract the ROMFS from the ROM only, or does it extract the content of the ROMFS as well?
-> Forget... Silly Question... "Unpack ROMFS" button right there... lol

I have tried everything all of you have suggested. The Romfs.bin is indeed decrypted. Yet the problem is still happening :/ Wherever I use the command lines that you have all posted, The window auto closes after a second and then will not let me do it again unless I restart my laptop.. Even with all of the "Hack Packs" and decryption tools, the romfs never extracts its files :( Should I try this on a different computer?
its recommended to use a tool that GUI i feel that cmd based tool are very "iffy" from OS version to spaces in the directory. props to the guys using CMD but i perfer GUI

anyway if you want that romFS.bin try what i do (or something similar)
decrypt your rom
i recommend rxtools and hit the decrypt rom on 3ds option. (you will need to make a nccinfo.bin and place it in your sd root prehand.
once you have a decrypted 3ds rom (how you decided to is up to you) download a app for PC called 3ds Rom Tools (gui ver)
and take the decrypted rom form your 3ds and put it in the 3ds Rom Tools folder then open the app and select the rom. then in order hit the buttons and it will completely decompile the game, if you want that RomFS.bin then stop at extract romfs button

I like all of this (except the rxTools part, but that's my personal choice. Long live Decrypt9! :P), and i like that at least someone is using my GUI. haha
I'm actually working on some updates to it at the moment. :)

haha glad you like it :)
The main reason i made is because like you mentioned CMD stuff, some people just don't get it (i do but that's not the point) and i wanted to make things a bit easier and batch files are ugly. haha

There's this batch file in Asia81's kit that takes the romfs from the .3ds file. I recommend it :)

(The name is "hackingtoolkit" I think...)

The only problem with that tool is that it doesnt convert the japanese symbols for some reason.

I just stick to doing ctrtool.exe directly and it works wonders :)

Wow, after a couple of days of not being able to get to grips with how to do this, I came across this and all I have to say is... thank you lol. You made a guy from England very happy in the early hours of the morning here. Your tool works and is very simple to use. Thank you :)
