Dos anyone can tell me the status of 11.1 after smea update otherap.

which hax is working? oothax, browserhax ...
Is NTR CFW working in Luma3DS regular version?
oothax is working, but only if you have a 3DS with 10.7 or lower as the oothax_sploit_installer only works on 10.7.0-32 or lower. Browserhax is still patched I think. NTR CFW is kinda working but I don't think there's an official release yet (I could be wrong on this).

i updated my luma for the 3ds yesterday to use the NTR for a plugin i wanted to try out. now it makes a pop noise upon turning on and wont boot up. just goes back out. with charger in it it'll charge. i think thats a good sign. so basically im asking this did me updating the dern luma make this happen?? and also what is it that could be the cause of the pop?? i looked online someone on it points out the ribbons in the 3ds?? im not sure i understand that but i do need help getting this system reworking again. i was quite enjoying my hacked 3ds.

Following the new otp guide and downloading the ctr file, it says "2.1.0-4E_ctrtransfer_o3ds" but thats still ok for the new 3ds right? Probably 'cos the file is from an old 3ds I geuss?

Having read the guide again it says

What you need
  • You will need to have booted into Decrypt9 via one of the Part 1
  • entrypoints
  • The 2.1.0 ctrtransfer image for your device and region
(if your device is not from one of these regions, just pick one):
    • Files per region
But the link only gives one file

it only gives you one file because you only need one, doesn't matter which 3ds you have

So I have done the new guide, got the otp bi, I can access the Luma config screen by holding select, but I cannot open the hourglass9 bin by pressing start, just a black screen. Any suggestions.

did you do step 3? (taken from the guide)

  1. Create a folder named luma on the root of your SD card
  2. Create a folder named payloads in the luma folder on your SD card
  3. Copy Hourglass9.bin from the Hourglass9 zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card and rename Hourglass9.bin to start_Hourglass9.bin

Hi, I read the guide from Plailect and when downgrading, I managed to softbrick my 2ds...

I read it is better to format the console before downgrading, but I wonder how to do that and right then use sysDowngrader ?
I'm in 9.9.0-26E so my entrypoint is menuHax (installed from browserHax). But when I format the console (with or without the SD card in it), I'm then unable to launch Homebrew Launcher via the d-pad down pressing when powering on the console. So I guess menuHax does'nt work anymore after formatting the console (with or without the SD card in it).

So does "formatting the console before downgrading" means "format the console, then install menuHax, then downgrade" ?

I already softbricked a 2ds that way, and would like to try on a second, that's why I'm asking

Although, if you have any advice as how to maximise the chances to not get a softbrick while downloading that way, I would take it, as my second 2ds I want to try the downgrade on is my last one...

Thank you !

(sorry for the Frenchy English)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
