Ok thanks, so the only way of updating it is by getting a game to update it? theres no alternative? here in argentina its not easy to get one of those games we have very few games to buy and flashcards are also a problem
Without a browser, unfortunately, your options are only a few and these options require extra cartridges, etc
(When you update via cartridge, the browser is not installed/updated)

I have successfully completed Plailect's A9HL+CFW guide! However I would like to know if it is possible to do a system transfer from my old 2ds or at the least how I can unlink my NNID from my 2ds so that I can use it on my A9HL New3DS.
Yes, a system transfer is possible, but you'll need to have both systems on 11.0.
If you only want to unlink your NNID from a system to link it to a different one, you only need to system format your 3ds with the linked NNID and then, link it to the other one

hi,
I would like to ask you something.
When you were on Part3, did you upgrade your RedNAND? to which version?

So I'm cancelling the A9LH installation (I stopped doing it) because of how glitchy it was
Is restoring my pre-format EmuNAND safe? I already formatted it twice.

Thank you for the reply. When I go to do a system format it says "The Nintendo Network ID Linked to this system can't be linked to other systems in the Nintedo 3DS family..." can I Ignore this message or must I do a system transfer ?

So, I'm on AuReiNand Sysnand 11.0, which means I have no means to access decrypt9. But if I format my 3DS, I'll still be able to use browserhax in order to access decrypt9, right? And then I can restore one of my 10.7 Nands and just update my 3DS from there? Just wanting to make sure.

And you still succeed in downgrading the RedNAND to ver 2.1?
I am getting error in during downgrading.
Do you have any suggestion?
I am new to this as well, the downgrade was successful for me but he guide states "This downgrade process can take many many tries in some situations, just keep trying until it works" I believe you can restore your RedNAND and try the downgrade again until it works.

I am also a total noob.
I tried 5 times and still am getting error.
Thanks anyway, at least I know that it is possible to downgrade from RedNAND v.11 .

I though that you could pass your NNID formating the source and linking the NNID in the target 3ds, but there are people saying that this only works when you unlink and then link the NNID in the same system... so if you want to be 100% safe, do a system transfer

I'll go ahead with the transfer then. Thank you again for your help.

So I'm cancelling the A9LH installation (I stopped at Part 4, Step 15) because of how glitchy the downgrade was acting.
Is restoring my pre-format EmuNAND safe? I want my saves and cias back so I have a use for the emuNAND.
bump. Answer my question, please (If you know the answer)

Just an added step, me and another have successfully downgrade from 11.0 to 2.1 using @Plailect guide, but we both have had to update our emunand to 11.0, insert the firmware.bin from part 5 into the luma folder and proceed to downgrade to 2.1, everything else i tried failed.

Good luck ! It took me a couple of tries too .
Finally!! I can downgrade to 2.1
Using tips from quote I attached above.
Thanks DHall243 !

Currently not in the UK but I'm gonna have it shipped to the UK and sent to me. It's not currently available for me where I currently am. If I'm going to get the 3DS and the Ocarina of Time 3D (found one on gamespot for around 15 bucks) is there any chance that the whole thing might not work? Plus I've read things like even after getting a CFW you have to play one game per SD card and stuff.
The problem is you need an entrypoint for install homebrew and in your firmware only cubic ninja can does it. Oot3d needs a homebrew running first to work as entry point. So you need to buy an OOT3D and a powersave to work (then you can inject the modified save), I think it's the best soluton for you.

Are we able to port unity games to 3ds as homebrew? Is that even a thing that could be possible? It would kind of open an entire world of possibilities, no?

Guess no-one wants to answer my question. Great.
Also, Aeth-r, it's been done for Wii U and Cellenseres, developer of Undertale 3DS, has ported Unity-made models (though they only run at a decent framerate on N3DS), so maybe.

If you are going back to a menuhax+redNAND//emuNAND setup, then yeah, it's fine. This is what I am assuming since it sounds like you are giving up on getting A9LH setup.

Ironic how you get brick-protection by (temporarily) bricking your emuNAND

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
