It won't show up in homebrew
This is from my guide.

Important tip:all of the Homebrew Launcher apps .3dsx files must have the same name as the folder their into or they should be named boot.3dsx.

Examples
Correct:
SD:3ds/Blargsnes/Blargsnes.3dsx
SD:3ds/Portal3ds/Portal3ds.3dsx
SD:3ds/GameYob/boot.3dsx

Incorrect:
SD:3ds/Blargsnes/snesemulator.3dsx

If your app it's set up like the in the incorrect example above, you must rename the .3dsx file and give it the same name as the folder it's into or the homebrew launcher won't recognize it. In my case I'll rename thesnesemulator.3dsx to Blargsnes.3dsx Upper and lowercase matter! Naming the .3dsx to boot.3dsx would also work.

For step by step on how to set up this and every other emulator available for the 3ds check out my all in one emulators noob guide. Hope it works.

Anyone else have an issue with ALTTP and buttons jsut not working? past the main menus to choose either ALTTP or 4 swords?

Oh. I though it had, since so many emulators comes with .cia files.
All the technical stuff about the homebrew launcher is so much to take in for me ^^;
Still having a hard time getting most stuff to work properly.

I must try playing some other games like advance wars for a long time to see if the crash happens only in some games. I tried a bunch of games, but only for testing.
Sword of mana crashed just after the long introduction scene.

EDIT : Worked well the third time.

The .3dsx vs. .cia issue is complicated. The scene has been needlessly fragmented by different file formats.

.3dsx files can only be used with Ninjhax/IronHax/TubeHax. By design, this does not have kernel mode access. This is only a half-truth however - people did eventually find a way to gain kernel access on the old Ninjhax v1 using fw9.2. This no longer works on Ninjhax 2.1/fw 9.9. Critically, .3dsx files all require Cubic Ninja, Ironfall or YouTube to work and are also FIRMWARE DEPENDENT. Once Nintendo patches the exploit in the next update, people on the latest firmware will no longer be able to use them (even through EmuNAND).

.cia files are installers that add games to the 3DS main menu - much more convenient than having to load through a game! It is the primary format for people who are using either a CFW or Gateway and don't have access to Ninjhax/Ironhax/Tubehax for whatever reason (maybe they updated their EmuNAND to a newer firmware or something). People again discovered a method to install .cia files using the old Ninjhax v1, but this no longer works. They're also NOT firmware dependent - as long as the firmware is compatible with your CFW or EmuNAND, they will work.

Until recently, .cia has been prefered by those who can use .cia files because of their ease of use. What has changed recently? 2 things.

1) The large influx of new users due to the recent 9.9 exploit (this is a good thing!). They can only use .3dsx files.
2) And more importantly - Ninjhax2/IronHax/TubeHax has access to the extra resources of the New 3DS! For some reason, .cia doesn't allow this. This means that .3dsx is now preferred even by those of us who can also use .cia files.

If you have CIA installation and want non-CIA file features, just install an Ironfall CIA and launch through that. There should be an Ironhax save floating around.

That still limits you to fw9.9 though, presuming Nintendo patch IronHax in fw10.0

Right now, no. But when fw10 is released it will suddenly become a problem as people will have to choose between the latest firmware on EmuNAND or staying with an increasingly outdated 9.9.

If somebody a .3dsx loader in .cia format that exposed the hb service without going through an exploit, we could all just stick with .3dsx and move on.

CIA VER!! woo!

its incredibly slow on every game i played but its a start.
mario world 2 - 5-10 fps
mario kart the same^
mario advanced 4 even slower.
