I find your lack of faith In Yellows8 and Neimod Disturbing, Fellow Tempers.

People start bashing Neimod and Yellow8,
and do not believe in it, but if there is anyone I should put my faith into,
it's Yellow8 and Neimod.

It's just a matter of time for this hack to be done.
And all those people who say it's fake will be using this hack.

The way the hack works is he uses a fpga, a special computer. The fpga provides a link between the 3ds and a PC. I don't know enough about the hack , but I'l guess that the hack is a save game hack.

So do people think that we will have to buy a fpga (a special computer), to be able do this hack?

It is indeed, though that's not a main feature for other devices. The capacity for a software exploit is greater, too, as shown with Sudokuhax. No fpga there, nor with Wii/WiiU.

If it were FPGA based, we can probably expect another DSTwo or CycloDS iEvo type of flashcard to come to market. Although in most cases FPGA's are used to discover exploits which once discovered can be crafted to work without the FPGA.

Or, or. Maybe Nintendo will throw out a upgraded 3DS.

PSP 1000->2000->3000
DS Phat->DS Lite
PS3 Phat->PS3 Slim
Phat 360->Slim 360

There's always room for improvement. He wasn't hoping for flash cart makers, to hold off for a simple redesign. He was hoping for them to hold off for the "inevitable" 3DS redesign. (Which I don't believe is going to happen, but hey. I'm not Nintendo.) Holding off a modifications on the basis that a new 3DS redesign will be released is pointless. Who knows when it'd come out if at all. They gave the Ambassador games to shut people up, so I doubt that a redesign would warrant another "free games" bonanza. Just because someone wants something changed does in no way make them a "noob". You both are insinuating that he was talking about minor redesigns, when he didn't specifically specify the changes. I could go for a 3DS Lite with a built in circle pad, does that make me a noob?
I thought the only reason they did the ambassador program was because the 3ds got the price reduction, if they released another version I wouldn't expect more free games either

  1. The 3DS got a huge price reduction later on.
  2. The first batches of the 3DS had inheritent design flaws (bumpers strike back etc.)
  3. The OS did not feature all the functions it was supposed to, they were added later in firmware updates
So yeah, early adopters got the sh*t end of the stick and Nintendo wanted to reward them in some way, which is kind of them since they didn't have to, but the Ambassador games are rather meh in my opinion and I'd personally prefere the Points equivalent... but hey! Tastes.

As far as redesigns go it's all about cost reduction to these companies. It's been almost 2 years since launch, at this point Nintendo can probably afford to integrate the CPP into the a new model and maybe even put in a bigger battery while keeping the unit portable... but my point is I'd rather not anyone release anything too soon unless it's not hardware patchable. There are 3 reasons I don't own a 3DS: region lock, shitty battery, and oversized CPP add-on. If we get a flashcart and a new 3DS around next summer/fall that would be awesome.

I Don't care if we never get to play 3DS ROM Backups (Well I would love to but I Wouldn't mind if we couldn't) What I really want is to be able to play games from any region on my New Zealand 3DS because I got 2 games that are from another region
