Like most people here I (want to) believe them, but reading that the FPGA can't be updated or Multirom will never work made me rethink the whole thing. It's taking way too long, hope you'll be right.

I've not seen anyone say Gateway can't update, only the clones & that was Gateway saying that, so it remains to be seen if it's true.

Multirom will never work

People said the same about region free when the gateway came out

It's taking way too long, hope you'll be right

Last time they released early, there was nothing but people bitching. A beta was unstable, so gateway sucks etc.

Dont know where people are getting info GW isn't updatable, they have stated from the start that they integrated from the beginning a way to update the Cart, planning for the future and all that.. The rumors about non updatable carts where in relation to the clones and their pin placements, when did it morph to GW not being updatable, especially since that rumor came from 1 posters... All the people sitting on their asses with nothing better to do than complain about the wait, are more than welcome to code their own launchers and add all the awesome features they want... Oh wait that will never happen.......... I dont get the mentality of "if hasn't come out yet, its not coming" or "They are just lying to make us buy their cards"
If anyone has been transparent with their plans from the starts its the GW team..

Most likely because you had already had your friend code generated before transferring to EmuNAND. While mine was generated on the EmuNAND first, and then on SystemNAND later on.

If I had gotten a friend code generated on SystemNAND first before creating the EmuNAND, mine would be correctly transferred as well.

I have made a entry about it in the 3DS hacking FAQ inside the "Troubleshooting" section. Feel free to edit or remove it if the language is unclear.

I would think if you redo your emuNAND (repeat the prep and update process) it should solve the dual FC problem and you will end up the same FC on both from your current sysNAND... Unless for some reason you want two separate FC's for each mode.

This is the last email i received from Gateway. I know it doesnt tell us anything but figured id share anyhow

"You will have an update soon, but in any case, our final 2.0 firmware will be released soon.

mailto:[email protected]

> Is there any eta you could share with us for the 2.0 release"

I received the exact same e-mail

sounds like another beta before final

How long has it been since 2.0 was announced now....oooh 4 months?
What's come has been pretty poor form, let's be honest.
We're talking about basic flashcart functionality here, that really should have been in there from the beginning,
Something is definitely fishy here.

Why does everyone have to be so negative about everything that is happening on the scene? Are you fucking kidding me? Gateway is the first 3DS flashcard.
They released 2 freaking beta firmwares on 1 month with NAND EMULATION. Better be grateful because without them you wouldn't be able to do what you are doing now.

mmmm why u need a updating?
GW team told a mounth ago and more that multirom is just firmware update.
but i don't know if we will see never a multirom function on Gateway :(!

You guys seriously think that GW won't release the multirom Firmware? They've been talking about it for so long and they confirmed that they are still tweaking it but it will be ready soon. I don't understand why you loose faith so quickly, they always kept their promise so far ... with delays but still.

Well, I guess most of the people who would buy the GW already own it. So, I don't think there will be much (more) sells in the future which leads to less/no money for further updates.
For what reason they have to continue working?

It's the age of instant gratification. People are used to large corporations with dozens of employees and they have high expectations of quick coding and releases. For all we know, the Gateway team could consist of a group of 5 people trying to make code based off of technology they didn't create so it's a daunting task. They give approximate release dates because people bug them for it and they realize it's probably better form to give SOME kind of estimate then to just ignore their customer base completely. Everyone needs to cut them some slack and quit acting so entitled.... and don't give me the argument that "well I spent $80 so I deserve all this quickly!" No you spent $80 for what was released at the time and anything now is just a bonus. If you didn't like the features at the time, you shouldn't have bought it.

They promised this feature and it's possible that they realize there are still many people waiting on it before they decide on which card to buy.
