how do we know that GW has not already had the SOC decapped?
or that they will not invest in such an undertaking?
it might be worth it , since they could potentially expand their user base if the decap lead to a new exploit for 4.5+

i wonder what became of the decap money from the fundraiser, did they pocket it ,or did they actually do the decap and sell the info to someone ,probably the former ,but who knows for sure

So I emailed gateway and they assured me that there are no confirmed gateway bricks and that there will be no shipping charge or 100 dollar ransom to legitimate claims. I also got them to give me an actual update for the v2.0 update with nand saving and multirom is going to be released in 48 hours!!!! The long wait is over. I feel the info is valid cause I said I was doing a report for a blog and pretended to favor Mt cards and mentioned that they needed to release it asap before Mt card beats them. This was their response exactly "We will have something in the next 48 hours most likely(regarding 2.0 update we have been waiting for desperately!!!!)

That sounds interesting; first of all: there won't be any shipping-costs? So you only would have to pay 100$ if they accuse you of having used a clone?
Second thing; finally. 2.0 Final is ready. Guess it'll be delayed somehow, but hey. I may be wrong.

It's quite a bit of money if you want to do it properly, it'll be a lot of work to analyze the thing and even then nothing may come of it. It's a pretty big risk and it wouldn't surprise me if they were unwilling to take it.
Also, I'm afraid the fundraiser probably ran off with the money.

There will be "something" during the next 48 hours. But where did they say it'll be the 2.0 Final?

I found my email regarding sending units back. They say they can read all 3ds like a book and it will be obvious if a clone or modified launcher.DAT was used. They say they would never claim it was damaged by clone if its not. They even say they will fix a brick if its not caused by a clone or gateway but was result of a normal brick which can happen with out flashcards.

They had a video with multirom working but for some reason Belgium won't allow them to air it on gateway website. I did see the video before it was taken down and they have it working just making sure no bricks!
