Hacking 3.1-3.4 Twilight/Downgrade/Gamma Tutorial

Hi after reading the forum i just wanted to check

I am currently on 3.1e, do i only need to complete steps 2 and 3 and not worry about step 1

Please can someone let me know thanks

hi,
i would like to get some help whith your tutorial,
i have found a file that semm to be the goos one it is called eoc.zip and have your post in it

my wii is in version 3.1U and i am trying to do step 2
[STEP 2] [Perform these steps if you have completed Step 1 above or if you are on a version below 3.2. If you ARE on 3.2, skip to STEP 3]

+Load cIOS Downgrader in Homebrew channel MAKING SURE you PICK YOUR CORRECT REGION. Follow prompts until done.
3.2U = USA/Canada, 3.2E = Europe, 3.2J = Japan
**Note: Once again, this is NOT the same as IOS Downgrader. This is what will upgrade or downgrade you to version 3.2 firmware
which will allow you to install starfall. Starfall is important because it is at this time one of the only ways to fix a
partially bricked Wii. It is also handy for skipping disk updates.

but when i load cIOS Downgrader it only reset my wii and stay at 3.1U

Just install cios_fix.wad and follow step 2 and 3

Afif 95, are u sure about installing cios_fix.wad on fw 3.1???? Because im doing this today on a friends wii... and he has 3.1U, i just want to be sure about that, i hope to have no problems

If im on 3.3u and have already did the twilight hack, installed homebrew channel, backup channel, etc, do I just downgrade to 3.2u and install starfall or do i have to do the twilight hack and install the wads all over again after downgrading?

you do not have to go through twilight hack install again.

Hi Guys

Im trying to use the ios downgrader v1.2 i choose 3.2e it downloads the ios30 successfully but when it tries to downoad the system meny v290 it gets stuck on content #69, what am i doing wrong

Another few more tries should work.

And actually letting your router cool off and moving it nearer to your Wii helps

Afif 95, are u sure about installing cios_fix.wad on fw 3.1???? Because im doing this today on a friends wii... and he has 3.1U, i just want to be sure about that, i hope to have no problems

Whoops, miss it.

Anyway, you'll be installing a cios WAD, I don't think that will harm your Wii. But I suggest you updating to 3.4. From there, you have the right setting of the Wii to follow the guide from STEP 1.

anyregion changer is a complicated app. With cIOS Downgrader, it's automated and safer.

something i don't understand? i updated my firmware from 3.1u to 3.3u but i can still install wad??? should i follow step 1??

I need help... i did this on a wiis friend, he had fw 3.1... this is what i did:

Load cios_fix.wad using custom wm
Load cIOS Downgrader (and upgrade to 3.2U)
Load Starfall and installed the 3 last options plus the wii region free games
Load cIOS installer
Load Install Shop IOS51, "yes" "yes" and "no"
Load Wad Manager and installed DjTaz_gamma_Loader.wad
Load Wad Manager and installed IOS38


Then i tried Super Paper Mario Backup and it loaded fine (i really didnt tried it)
Then i tried to install Megaman 9 wad and it installed and everything... but when i tried to load it, the wii just restarted back to the wii menu... why???
I then uninstalled megaman 9 and intalled river city ramson wad (NES) and it did run good.......

I had no other wads to test at the moment... but i dont understand what happened with megaman 9, will that happen with evey wii ware title??? what am i missing??

Probably it's 3.3v2 >__>.

I suppose the game (Megaman 9) needs certain IOS, but I'm not sure of it. Ask around.

Some games require a certain IOS in order to play them.

just went from 3.3U to 3.2U
tested smash bros and it worked fine
installed MM9 and it also worked fine

just one thing you may want to add... i had to uninstall my current cios before i could install ciox_fix.

Does the gamma in this package already fix error 002? If not, could anybody write a quick explanation on how i can replace it.
