Hardware 2DS Volume Slider - Clicks

I've had this thing a while now but just noticed today that when I slide the volume all the way down, it clicks into place.

Is this a feature of the 2DS XL that I've simply never noticed before (i.e. a deliberate detent) or is something wrong with the slider?

Thats normal for it. Same with n3ds xl

can confirm the same for regular new 3ds for both sliders, same goes for the 3d slider (but not the volume one) on the old 3ds xl.
