See if a temporary, simulated factory reset makes the screens look any differently.
- GodMode9 → [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND → hold (R)-shoulder and press (X) on data folder.
- Be very careful. Pressing only the (X) button brings up the delete option. Do not delete!
- Rename the data folder to data2.
- Press (START) to exit GodMode9.
- You will be greeted to the new user setup. Create a (dummy) profile.
If image quality does not improve upon booting to
HOME Menu,
If image quality
still does not improve, that may indicate.
- (A) The lower screen's LED back lighting is dimming or nearing its useful life.
-or-
- (B) If you bought that o2DS secondhand used, the previous owner(s) swapped out the motherboard or LCD panel -or- modified the 3DS firmware with a bad { CTRTransfer , Lazarus3DS }. The pair of HWCAL0.dat & HWCAL1.dat are a mismatching set for the screen(s).
Restore your actual user profile.
6. GodMode9 → [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND → press (X) on (dummy) data folder to delete.
7. Hold (R)-shoulder and press (X) on data2 to rename back to data.
