Hardware 2DS lower screen saturation

Hello, recently I started to play with my 7 yrs old 2ds, everything is fine (I managed to make my R4 work thanks to your help here <3 ) except for my lower screen. For some unknown reason the colors are way too much saturated and darker and I have no idea why it's like that. Is there possibly any solution? Thanks in advance

I'm certain that the original 2DS is 1 big screen rather than 2

The problem is only the lower screen has this problem. The bigger one on the top is totally fine so changing everything doesn't help...

Technically, that Luma modified version can manage the screen settings individually (for upper and lower ones).

Dunno if on Old 2DS model it was not possible after all (because @peteruk said), but is a temporally measure (if problem is a hardware related damage, then is better repair/replace the screen or check any problem with the flex ribbon cables).

See if a temporary, simulated factory reset makes the screens look any differently.

1. HOME Menu → HOME Menu Design → HOME Menu Layout → (X) Save.
   
2. GodMode9 → [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND → hold (R)-shoulder and press (X) on data folder.
   • Be very careful. Pressing only the (X) button brings up the delete option. Do not delete!
3. Rename the data folder to data2.
   
4. Press (START) to exit GodMode9.
   
5. You will be greeted to the new user setup. Create a (dummy) profile.

If image quality does not improve upon booting to HOME Menu,

6. Try the battery trick.

• [iFixit] Nintendo 2DS Battery Replacement
  • Keep the original battery unless it is expiring.

If image quality still does not improve, that may indicate.

• (A) The lower screen's LED back lighting is dimming or nearing its useful life.

-or-

• (B) If you bought that o2DS secondhand used, the previous owner(s) swapped out the motherboard or LCD panel -or- modified the 3DS firmware with a bad { CTRTransfer , Lazarus3DS }. The pair of HWCAL0.dat & HWCAL1.dat are a mismatching set for the screen(s).

Restore your actual user profile.

7. GodMode9 → [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND → press (X) on (dummy) data folder to delete.
8. Hold (R)-shoulder and press (X) on data2 to rename back to data.
9. HOME Menu → HOME Menu Design → HOME Menu Layout → (Y) Load.

Thanks for the answer, I tried the dummy profile but it doesn't change anything. I'm gonna try the battery trick as soon as I find a small screwdriver because I don't have one now ^^''

Anyway, when I restored my profile all my badges disappeared! How can I have them back?

Oh, I had a 2DS. For me it had two problems:

1. Cramped my hands
2. Screen quality looked awful (so much so my DS Lite looked way nicer)

Hey, I didn't know that making a new user profile and switching back would reset the home menu arrangement. I adjusted the directions in my post #6 to account for this resetting so that others don't run into what happened to your o2DS.

You'll have to manually add the badges back onto HOME Menu by going in HOME Menu Design → Decorate with Badges. The badges should still contained in the collection. Sorry for this setback.

Oh, I had a 2DS. For me it had two problems:

1. Cramped my hands
2. Screen quality looked awful (so much so my DS Lite looked way nicer)

1. You must had been holding it wrong. It cramped my hands at first too, then I figured the correct position and it suddenly became the most comfortable handheld I've had.
2. The upscaling is awful for all 3ds models.
