If he fucked up on a system format, only god knows what else he messed up, better start clean, and dump the nand correctly.

I know you can never be 100% safe. But just wondering. I've a9lh 5 3ds but all were below or on 9.2 following plailects guide.

Nah, 11.2 is the best start point right now IMO, because you can get back to latest FW easily after install.

Afaik @Plailect could update the 2.1 ctr image to have a 6.1 mset (no new app encryption was added until 7.x, so it *should*), afaik this wouldn't cause any issues with dumping the otp or installing a9lh, but would remove the brick risk for silly people who decide to format while on 2.1 with a 2ds in the future

Then again idk if it really warrants looking into as it's pretty uncommon and the people who do it have just decided to ignore the warnings anyway

• Downgrade to 2.1 [CTR transfer.]

• Get Otp

• Install A9LH

• Restore nand backup keeping a9lh.

In this case, he softbricked, but has a9lh isntalled, as easy as do a 9.2 CTR transfer.

Stop complicating things up.
