Hi!
I have an old 3ds, on 9.2 that have the homebrew working and all the basics (not synand/emunand installed). But I wan't to play some games online but that's only possible if I update to 11.0. The thing is that I still wan't to be able to use the features of 9.2:s homebrew and also I got a gateway card that I'm not sure if it will work after the update?
What would you people here recommend me to do? is it possible to have 2 different versions on my 3ds? like with sysnand or something? Because I still wan't to be able to use my gatewaycard and also play online.

Thanks in Advance

You can use a hax entrypoint and set up an emunand and update it to 11.0

Sysnand: 9.2 (hax, etc.)
Emunand: 11.0 (games, features, etc.)

Edit: misunderstood question,
Yeah just format emunand and use a hax emunand.

I recommend you don't create an Emunand with Gateway, I recommend you install A9LH, as it gives you all the benefits of an Emunand without having to have an Emunand. Though you can also have an Emunand so all your things like gateway work as well on SysNand. It does take time, but it's worth it.

Benefits are:

1. 100% boot rate (No more yellow screen of death when trying to boot an Emunand)
2. Can be on a 11.0 Sysnand and still have all the benefits of CFW
3. Basically Noob Proof
4. Can unbrick a bricked Sysnand without hardmod (Provided you have a Nand Backup)
5. And much more

If you need help, PM me and I can help you with anything that confuses you in the guide below you to install A9LH

Hold L when you boot Gateway to enter the menu and pick "format emuNAND", just make sure you back up your 3DS' SD card first as it will delete everything.

From experience I would put the critical bits first as people tend to stop reading half sentence:

Backup SD Card contents to pc, then boot Gateway holding L trigger to enter gateway menu and pick "format emunand". Afterwards, recover the SD Card contents.

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

@Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
