Is there a way to enable it in the r8 beta 15 channel? I am trying to load NSMB from a disc. It works on USB if I use the 002 fix option, but I cannot get it to work from a disc. The disc is properly fixed and everything, but I still get a green screen everytime.

It's trucha bug. Not TRUNCH.

And I'm pretty sure if you don't have a modchip, you cannot run it via disk unless if it's an official retail copy. There are reports of it working with ciosrev15 but ciosrev15 does NOT work with NeogammaR8beta15.
Oh and the error 002 fix is always enabled in neogamma

There is a mod that does run beta 15 with cios15.

Yeah it works for me with rev15, I tried all versions of the game and they all worked, ntsc patched/unpatched and pal patched/unpatched.

have you try booting in usb loader gx from disk .... it work for me

Tell me something, if I don't have an usb hdd plugged in the wii, usb loader gx will wait 30 secs for the hdd then simply reboot the wii. I thought about doing that for a friend without a hd, ended up installing neogamma r7 and giving him some old sd card. Any reason why usb loader gx reboots the wii if no usb device is plugged in?

hmm, anything I should prepare for?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@Kirbydogs, what distro are you going with, and what's your comfort level with Linux systems as it stands right now
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
@Sicklyboy Ubuntu Cinnamon, because I heard it
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
    ack darn enter key
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
I heard it's pretty good, installed it on my VM last night and was pretty good

never used Linux before, thought it'd be nice
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
many people say Cinnamon was better than Linux Mint
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Nice. I'm not that familiar with Ubuntu derivatives these days, I tend to use plain Debian as well as Arch. Tip I would suggest during install, if it gives you the option, some installers offer to put your /home directory on a separate partition, it's simpler (IMO)
if you just keep it in the rest of your data partition. No harm either way though

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Beyond that (and especially since I'm not familiar with Ubuntu derivatives) just google, google, google if you're unsure about something :) the Arch Linux wiki, while not directly applicable, is IMO still one of the best resources for learning about how specific utilities work or for some general troubleshooting steps that could be abstracted to other distros

I just switched from Windows 10 to Arch Linux on my desktop PC about a month ago, I've been using Linux systems casually for about 15 years but never actually committed to the switch for my daily driver desktop OS. It's had a bit of a learning curve, especially since Arch is kind of "hard mode" lol, but it's worked very well so far and I'm really liking it over Windows. Never going back to Windows lol

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
If you really want to get into the sticks with my setup, my desktop pc is actually technically running Proxmox, a Debian-based VM hypervisor suite, and my Arch desktop OS is actually running as a VM on it with hardware passthrough for my GPU and a bunch of other shit. So an extra layer of complexity there hahaha

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Learning curve for sure, but definitely worth it!
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
I like Windows, because it's old and has a lot of stuff. Plus I'm familiar with it, and I don't think I'll be switching to Linux any time soon.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
That's why I stuck with it for so long. I just don't like Windows 11 and had no plans to ever upgrade to it, and my time on Windows 10 is running out until it goes EOL lol

  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
    nope, nothin' yet
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Oh here's an actual tip, if you're not aware, if you use Steam make sure you go into settings, compatibility, and "enable steam play for all other titles". Then you can run Windows native games under Proton

    wow 0_0
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
I've got to look into that once I install it!

Isn't Proton more advanced at running Windows files than any other?
