I skipped that part with hex editing (first part separated by "-------------------------")
and successfully got through all steps.
When I buy another DL DVD I'll let you know what came up.

Verbatim, ofcourse.

And strange thing happened with my old copy of SSBB. It always showed 001 Error but this one time it actually went through wear-a-strap warning screen and all that. But when it made a savefile, loading appeared and then....white screen. After that, it never got pass Error 001

I'm new here but here what I got.

I updated my WII to 3.3U, download the config1.4USA and burn it with Verbatim DVD-RW @ 4x. After running the wiikey update, I found that I can play those games that I can't before, mk, lego IJ and Kung fu panda.

This means it was bad burn. However, you could try that:
Use save installer to save 100% unlocked copy of save of Brawl
Then go to Brawl. Maybe it'll pass it. If it will, erase whole data.It should go fine.

Scawo, thanks, you are my idol!
Burned on Verbatim DVD+R DL on IMGBurn 2.4x with layerbreak 2084960.
No Error 001, no white screen, no angry manifestations of mine.

Hi there, the disks turned up and after 45 minutes of burning at 2x I got the following problem:

Loaded perfectly, got through to save screen (first time), then after that I got a White Screen with Green Writing telling me to eject the game blah blah blah.

Second time straight to White Warning screen, from reading this is normally attributable to setting the layer break in imgburn.

For these settings I open up my image in imgburn and then select the following options:

Tools / Settings /

Click on the "write" tab and in the Layer Break element I chose "User Specified". In the "Sectors in L0" I set this to "2084960" and then burn the image I have edited, removed the 0001 and Trucha Signed.

Any Ideas? The fact that I don't get the 0001 says the image was edited correctly (no 0001 check) and I think I have set the settings correctly so what now?

Try without layer break. Try on other disc. Try with Nero. Try on 2.4x. Try on 4x.

I could possibly take the manual layer break out but that was the culprit most people were suggesting.

I can always try just burning the trucha signed image using Nero at standard speeds to see if that works. I don't have any different disks and these are costing me $2.50 a pop. Here's hoping.... Thanks for the quick response again

Y' know the best DL disc is Verbatim. Bad brand can cause this error.
Also, my burning with Layer Break ended screwing up a wii by adjusting potentiometer
tongue.gif

Cause of this I have two of them now. Burned without layerbreak: works.

Another coaster... This time I burnt through Nero and without layer break changes, same result... all the way to I guess the first movie (title) and then... white screen with the warning on.

The disk cannot burn at any different speed and I am sure the burn process worked because the disk works perfect until that point.

I wonder if my mod cannot handle DL disks? It is pretty old (around August last year) with no firmware updates.

The quest continues.

I have spoken to my man in the know (and he is VERY in the know
smile.gif
and he says my mod was not designed to cater for DL disks and that I need a reprogram - B-Ugger

I guess I need the DVD-5 version and pray that there are no Final Fantasy games coming out for Wii
smile.gif

Oh well I have donated my coasters to a good home and they work (just to confirm the process).

So now I have a load of DVD-9s and nothing to use them on
smile.gif

I will use the trucha signer to update the DVD-5 so this topic is still the bomb

There: a guide

But you'll lose whole point of Subspace Emissary.
You can still use the key.bin and wiikeyreg from removing the 001 patch.

Hi guys, first post in here. I came following the lead of Skawo in this post.

I have the following problem: I have a NTSC-U Wii, firmware 3.1U, Wiifree chip (really old) and I want to play my Mario Galaxy NTSC-U iso!

Skawo implied that this tutorial would be enough to solve my problem. If that´s the case, it´s super: I´ve already removed a 001 error for Boom Blox, and I am familiar with the procedures.

But when I removed 001 from Boom Blox, I also used Brickblocker. When I tried to do the same with SMG, it gives me the black screen.

In my mind, if I just run the 001 Error Removal procedure, it won´t stop SMG from updating. And i heard the SMG update can render my lousy wiifree chip useless.

After reading thousands of pages (about WUM, GWP, trucha, deswad, ppf and god knows what else) I think I am more confused than before. The only thing I know is that guys like bailli and waninkoko should be put on a pedestal. But I still am not sure about how to burn my ISO. So, if anybody out there can help me with these questions:

- Is it possible to play SMG with a Wifree chip and 3.1U firmware?
- If so, what precautions must I take so that I don´t trash my Wiifree? Brickblocker? WUM?

Thanks in advance!

I think Super Mario Galaxy had 3.0 update....wait a second I think I have iso handy....
Check if you didn't screw something up, like burning. I think if you have 3.1 Mario Galaxy should work.
I remember having 3.0 and playing Mario Galaxy without problems.
Maybe try to not brickblock it, and check if it'll update...(Don't click on Disc Channel, it'll show you that's Wii System Update if so...

....or just use Gecko OS on Mario Galaxy

EDIT: Mario galaxy have 3.0 update.
