  • Managed to put all of my Wii games onto an HDD. I noticed that when entering the final laps on Dolphin, it lags a bit but isn't too detrimental for I am a casual Mario Kart Wii player. Why is that? Will this happen on a Homebrewed Wii?

It would just be much faster overall compared to DVD or HDD.

I guess it wouldn't really matter since these are more than a decade old games that were made when HDDs were still the norm in consoles. I don't plan on playing much games on Dolphin since I have a physical system to play games on that still wokr.

It does sound like a slow read issue. Linux caches files in RAM, look into vmtouch or loading files to ramdisk. Wii games aren't very large, so you can have the entire game sit in RAM for instant access. If that doesn't help, it's probably a different issue.
so you review silly retro adult games is that it? didn't even know there was such a thing..

I think for the sake of my sanity and for interests, I'll stick to what everyone likes the most. retro games galore. I'll only dive into THOSE kinds of games if I'm ever wondering WHY people play them....

Trying to make a better web button this site. Does anyone got any reccomendations?

Yeah, the font is too thin, I'd say.

Also, please refrain from LCD antialiasing, either don't use it or use greyscale AA. More often than not, the former has fringing on any screen type.

Personally, I took the lazy approach for linking sites without buttons, if you want to see it on my site: https://lightwo.net

LCD Antialiasing? There's a bunch of stuff I didn't know about Pixel art that I didn't even know about! xD

I did check out your site, and yeah I can see what you mean. thanks for all of the suggestions

LCD antialiasing is what most OSes set by default, it uses colours that are the closest to corresponding subpixel in an LCD array. Looks horrible while zoomed in, often doesn't even look right on LCD screens, and is a horrible choice for pixel art. The more you know ^_^
man the world has changed dramatically to the point that my website went from having so many places that I was on to just GBATemp, Steam, Retro achievements, Twitch, and the Terraria Community Forums.

what I got rid of? Twitter, Bluesky, and RetroGameTalk.
Annnd the HHD is now finished. Was thinking I might format it to FAT32 and use it alongside my Wii. I wonder how that'll work and whatnot...?

Testing it now with Nights: Journey of Dreams. By disabling SD Card Mode, USBLoaderGX registers the HDD, and I'm dumping my disc of it onto there, and after a good while, it should be done and done. Hopefully this works cause I could honestly migrate everything I have in terms of my dumped games from the 128GB SD Card onto the 250GB HDD.

for most modern distros they have a gui for installing things, but the terminal is there for those that want to do a bit more with their os.

@The Catboy Unless they're thinking about Unix w/o the desktop environment? Most distros like the above stated, they will have a desktop environment depending on what needs it's for.

To be fair the Terminal is goated for everything you want to do.

Heck I'd argue sometime a command line program works the best for things I want to do, so I've coded my own tools that way, for myself specifically.

I know this is old news by now, but I am still glad that I had gotten this PC to run Windows 11 through Tiny11. It makes me proud since this computer used to run Windows 10 Home, and I wasn't buying how the PC said it couldn't handle 11 but would you look at that, it does. Updates also run by smoothly~

Microsoft is definitely imploding windows 11 but with the software that they put on there. tiny11 comes with barely anything that Microsoft forces on there that you can't take off without manual edits of the iso (the tiny11builder handles it as well as additional win11debloat stuff), and

I've had it on both my gaming and college laptop and for a while now other than the occasional Microsoft Edge comeup, I've never had any problems with tiny11. though I will take what you're saying as an interest cause for all other systems, I gotinux running on them. specifically peppermintOS.

this isn't my personal PC, but rather a PC that my family has the option to touch, and there are some apps that they need to use that aren't available on Linux
Next Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I have plans to stream some of my tModLoader shennegains in the adventure maps that I've been playing. if you want to chime in, my twitch is here: twitch.tv/dragonmals
