I rewrote code.bin, rebuilt the 3DS, and then disassembled the 3DS file to see what differences each file had compared to the original 3DS file. Naturally, code.bin changed, but so did HeaderNCSD.bin, HeaderNCCH0.bin, HeaderExeFS.bin, and ExeFS.bin. Could you please explain why these files have different values from the original files?
Please don't ask the same question in multiple different places. It just makes things confusing.

Is it possible to patch this game on Windows without the use of a real 3ds? Eg in an emulator or via Windows patching tools?

Patch contains a bps file and a patcher bin

https://github.com/ScarletStudy/DGS1-3DS-Release

reading this guide, if I create an exefs directory inside the game mod folder, copy the bps file there and rename it to code.bps, it should work. But after this step, game refuses to run with an error message.
https://citra-emulator.com/game-modding/

tried also the Rom Patcher JS and other web patchers and no luck there either.

Or do I require to install Lunar3DS on an 3ds Windows emulator?

Tried also Gamepatcher and it gave me an error message too

My father gave me his old New 3DS XL, and I am planning on putting my modded New 2DS Contents on there. How do I go to do that?
The most straightforward way would be to do a System Transfer and then run faketik. However, this will do a system format on your New 2DS, so if you don't want to do that, you'd be better off reinstalling whatever you want to play on the 3DS XL and then transferring the save data using Checkpoint.

Something I have only taken note of after having a modded 3DS for god knows how long: Not a single game icon is animated on the bottom screen. Well, except for Twilight Menu! It's the only one of those animated icons I have anywhere! Is it possible to create other animated icons and put them on my home screen? Kind of surprised no official game I have ever played has done this before.

Is this a CFW "feature"?

Let me also ask: Is there a method to play NDS games from the SD card that allows me to change cheat codes after the game is launched? I can do so for 3DS games through Luma's Rosalina menu, I can't do the same for NDS games, which seems strange to me. The nds-bootstrap menu (same combo as rosalina) feels like the logical place to look for such a feature. I feel like I just didn't pay attention and missed something obvious. Some codes are meant to be enabled while in game, used, then turned off afterwards, and this is hard when you have to select your cheat codes before the game launches.

So I decided to open The Legend of Dark Witch 2 for me to play (purchased this game) and this pops up before rebooting my system. What could be the problem with this?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my new nintendo 2ds xl, its not turning on but still has a blue light.

before this, there was a message to enable loading external firms and system modules. however my top screen was glitched out so i was unable to see any of the options. i restarted my 2ds and have had a black screen since. i last used it last night, so this occurred in less than 24hrs

things ive tried:
-turning it on and off
-booting into luma
-booting into gm9
-booting into safe mode
-doing all the above without the sd card inserted
-renaming the nintendo 3ds folder
-letting it charge
-leaving it on for 10min+
-going on the homebrew discord

im at my wits end and im really distraught so if anyone could help me id really REALLY appreciate it. i have a backup of my NAND on my pc and im willing to let go of all my save data if it means i could use my 2ds again, but im not even sure how to go about doing that. thanks for reading

So... Is your top screen still "glitched out"? Because that suggests some kind of hardware failure.

And did you learn anything..?
i can't tell, both screens remain black. it could be, but i don't know how that could happen

the discord was pretty unhelpful, i was simply told to turn it on and off again.

I don't even know what "glitched out" means. Was it displaying anything?

So what exactly do you mean by "booting into luma", "booting into gm9", and "booting into safe mode"?
it was displaying a white bar across the middle.

what i mean is that i opened my 2ds while holding down select, start, and the safe mode combination ( L R a dpad-up). each time nothing happened.

Hi guys, recently for the first time I had an exception on my 3DS, i borrowed it and they gave it back like this and now I can't connect to the internet, does anyone have any idea on what to do ? :^(

Hi
I follow this Guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/setting-up-gateway-luma3ds-on-11-17-guide.640070/ to reuse my old Gateway
All work fine but the Gateway emunand i update to 11.2 and I like to upgrade to 11.17.0-50E but the "123ab GW patch" is unavailable cause the main web site is closed.
Some one can help me ?
Thanks
The forum will be back online after it has finished maintenance. Maybe wait patiently? I cannot provide a link as to where you can download the files, because of course, it's firmware files for the 3DS which goes against GBAtemp's rules.

Copy and paste everything from the sd card to your pc with Roadkill's unstoppable Copier, then format it as Fat32 and test it with h2testw with (write+read setting) to check if it's faulty.
If it doesn't pass the test, then it's faulty and you need a new replacement sd card.
If it does pass the test, then it's fine. Report back here so i can tell you what to do next.
This is an incredibly late response to this (I forgot I had an account on here tbh) but I was just thick and tried home brewing the console with my phone at the time and a Micro SD card, smh. I "Fixed" the issue though. Bought a newer console and started from scratch and used a pc this time cause I ended up hard bricking + frying my old consoles motherboard somehow 🤷. Lesson learnt ig lol
