I wish windows didn't have to require driver setup when trying to install it cause no matter what I've used to make the drivers recognized with the Intel rapid storage tech driver it just didn't work on my system and I just gave up and kept mint on there lol

now if there was a way to bypass this and get windows on there nonetheless... maybe that's a different story I can follow through. if anyone could help me see if it's potentially possible to get windows back up and running that would be nice but other than that I'll keep the Linux Mint PC in check.

Can you install windows with the drive in another computer on a partition, then put the drive back into the other system?

Maybe because Linux Mint has overwritten your entire drive to where you cannot have enough space to install it. If you're going to be installing Mint, create two partitions on the drive first using GParted; if it's a 1TB drive for example, have x2 450GB partitions with one for Windows and another for Mint (make sure they're both unformatted just to give you an indicator as to which one is which). Then, once you get back to the Mint installation, remember the partition number and the capacity before you select it, and then afterwards you can install Windows onto the secondary partition. I hope this helps you out, as this is what I did to have Tiny11 and Fedora on one SSD. [2/2]

@x65943 I haven't tried doing that yet. that requires opening the computer up though. I mean if it originally had an HDD in it and It now has an SSD all of a sudden, maybe I could try taking it out and installing Windows using my MSI PC. Wished that it wasn't SATA though.

@SylverReZ my goal for this computer is for me to get Windows back on there, but if the instructions x doesn't work on my end, then I'm going to keep Fedora Workstation on there (I just remembered now that I've changed it to the goat not too long after I've mentioned this issue

another issue with this computer is that it has a backup of every single thing I've hit the machine with on the BIOS. KDE Neon, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Linux Mint, ZorinOS, and more. and this is including formatting the drive multiple times. I don't understand why the BIOS did that but oh well

tiny11 is now running on here..basically I've tricked the system to running windows 11 to go and that's what made this system work. hopefully I can do something about the multiple OS issue in the BIOS settings...

Currently I'm running Tiny11 24H2 on my SSD. I've installed a few games like Bloody Hell and Silksong. I'll figure out Steam another day to get all of the games I need set-up on my machine.

Something to keep in mind if you're installing Tiny11 up to 24H2 with Secure Boot. You must note that the bootloader for installation and booting Windows has a huge security risk (according to CVE-2023-24932) which could be exploited by malicious actors to install what's known as a "bootkit" (basically a rootkit but at the kernel level and over the BIOS which means it cannot be removed through normal means).

Don't worry because Microsoft has released a critical update patch to address this--it was over 2-years ago. So if you're connecting to the internet, do be sure to scan for updates to install it to keep it clean and such. But for offline-use only, don't think this should matter, so long as you don't download sketchy stuff.
